Bought a helmet cam last night... Should have it set up by the time of the ride!

Also, I was thinking about how to get our skis out of the water during breaks since that beach is all rocks... maybe just bring a big piece of carpet and lay it out on the rocks? Walmart sells little blue closed cell foam camping mats, but I dont know if they will be big enough to stay put when we try to pull the skis up on them... any skis with no scuppers should be able to anchor....

I beached a brand new 99 SXi Pro on those rocks for 3 days and it barely left a mark.

Its like small round smooth gravel.

I thought it was larger rocks... you're talking about the beach right by the boat ramp down from where the rental guys pull their skis up? Maybe we'll be fine then...

crappy pic but:

well you guys aren't gonna believe this.. After 2 solid weeks of getting my ski together, and it runs great. I went out this weekend, with my skis and my sister took our parents boat out. Well she wanted to take my rxp for a spin, so I let her no big deal, so she head out with her friend on the back. So then her other friend asks to ride my stand up, I have let her try it before, so I didn't think much of it. Well at some point my sister switched drivers and let her other friend drive my rxp.. needless to say the stupid b*tch runs straight into my superjet. So it cracked the back rear gunwale of the ski, I dont know how bad it really is, cause it could have hit hard enough to crack under my turf, maybe eve n hurt my foot hold install... on top of that my rxp has a scratches and cracked down to the fiberglass aswell... SO I"m extremely pissed off, and I'm going to see if I can get it fixed in time to make it to the ride, but I dunno if I will be able to get it fixed.. This weekend marked the last time people ride my stuff, that I dont strongly trust. :hitwithrock:

man... thats why I never let people ride mine either... I have gotten people that seem rather insulted that I would not let them ride it too... I'm like DUDE its my frickin ski.... where do you get off acting insulted because I wont let you ride it!!! frickin stuck up people... 3/4 of them are hillbillies at the lake that see me ride and want to try it out real fast... needless to say that the outcome of those rides would most likely end up with me fixing something...

I hope you can have it fixed in time!!!! Should not be hard to fix...

Sand the cracks down and lay a bunch of glass over it... if you have to rip some turf up to check for cracks just rip it up and forget about what it looks like.... who cares about looks as long as you can make it to the ride!!!!

ya, I try and be nice and I would say 90% of the time nothing happens, but I'm fed up. I"m pissed because it couldn't have happened at a worse time :AR15firing:

ah, I am not a fiberglass pro.. in order to make it look nice and as if it was never damaged, I will let a pro take care of it. I"m off to get an estimate right now.

thats cool man... just dont let some guys schedule keep you from coming up though... glass is nothing you have to be a pro at... I have done glass work a few times now, and even the first time I tried it came out really nice... if he cant do it in time then just DIY...
Hopefully he will take pitty on you and do a rush job...

paul,
I was thinking an old piece of carpet like 5' x 20' would work better than those camping mats to put over the rocks to pull the skis up onto... what do you think? only problem I can see with those mats is that they would move around a lot when we try to pull up the skis... carpet would prob. stay in place pretty well... I have some old carpet at home and and if thats not big enough I got a place down the street that sells carpet at a good discount...

scissor stands would be great.... just too much $$$$
