2008 + SJ's... What angle do you run your turn nozzle at?

I havn't thought about it for a while. I elongated the hole on the bracket that determines the turn nozzle angle. I thought it would be better for freestyle if I had it level with the hull like the pre 2008's, instead of trimmed up like it came stock. After leveling it out I noticed the nose would dig in pretty baddly when turning and the handling just felt weird to me. I have it in the stock position now and was thinking about jacking with it some more.

So, I was just wondering what the other 2008+ riders were running?

I would try it with the nozzle pointing up as far as you can, thats where mine is at. I've been told the TBM plate digs in and brings the nose up as well. I haven't tried it yet thought. Too cheap.

I have an extended plate on mine and the nose digs in some but the handling is even better. The new hull takes a different approach to hitting setup wakes but you can get around way quicker with much more control than sliding. I ran the nozzle flat for a bit and hated it.

I just ordered a blowsion Iznell twister nozzle for my 08 I'll let u guys know how it works out compared to the stock, I'll try it before I stick my xmetal pole+pre 08 cable on it too.

Also, I put a D cut shortened plate on it and it brought the nose up slightly and now u can slide it out a little easier if u try.

True, I was pretty uncomfortable with it this way.

As for the twister mod, isn't that the piece that moves your steering pivot point in closser to the turn nozzle? I moved mine in as far as it would go by drilling a new hole; even filing down the plastic gussets so I could get as close as possible. It has held up fine. Someone did a write up about how they used the innermost turn plate hole (it needs to be tapped) and added a bolt to the turnplate stop to keep the cable from overextending at full lock. This essentially give you the same throw as before but quicker response time...

I can break this hull loose without issue but found it difficult at first. I know for a fact I can't ride a pre-2008 SJ withought looking like a special kid. I think I will be sticking with the stock rideplate and intake grate, though I have never tried any others.

This the bracket we made the vertical slot on. If someone was crafty they could make a new bracket and make the slot even higher.

Once we move the nozzle up less bow spray. I still like to angle the nozzle up further, but I think I will try a short plate first.
