Problem solved, I made a deal tonight on a clean 96 SJ with a Riva RPM kit and beachcomber cart. I pick it up tomorrow.

How do you like that Riva RPM kit? I'm lookin at a similar ski and I want something that will be decent fun on a lake but that will ride well in the surf. Is this Riva Kit good for riding in surf?

I've never ridden surf so I couldn't really answer that. Also I think the new RPM kit has a B-pipe and this kit is the old Cast Riva Red Pipe.

I really like the pipe, way stronger than my Sizzler and pulls hard from about 1/3 throttle up. It has a small dead spot right at the bottom until I get the revs up but I'm hoping that the TBM Lightweight flywheel and "Hooker" impellor clean that up.

It's way faster than my piped SN and my SXR.

Cool, I guess I'm more concerned with the handling mods, the kit on the ski I'm lookin at http://www.rivayamaha.com/pwc_perf_packages/superjet_rpm.asp has a R&D ride plate, Riva Tri-Loader intake grate, and a solas super camber impeller, anynoe know what kind of riding those are desgined for?

This kit has the same prop and grate that you mention but it has a Riva Groovy Ride Plate. Handling on this ski is great, it slides out consistently enough that you can control it easy. I've had plates that held too long and then just "let go" but this one is smooth in every turn, very predictable and easy to get used to. I'd swear i've been riding this ski for years not just a few hours. Trust Riva, they know what they're doing and put together a good package.
