2009 sj steering

Alright guys.

I'm sick and tired of my 09 not turning the way it should. I bought an rrp quick steer turn bracket but it seems it won't fit on my 09 nozzle. I know lots of blokes use a pre 08 pole but they are not readily available here in aus. So I'm thinkin I will start with a new steering system either rrp or blowsion phat clamp set up. I wanna run riser bars so I thought it's between either of those.

If anyone has any insight, pics, pros, cons, prices all would be appreciated.

Or if any one has installed or knows how to install that bloody quiksteer, post me some pics. Please.

Cheers crew.

I have a 2008 and I just went through all this getting mine setup! Its not the plate its not the nozzle its the cable you need to swap out! A company on here called TS innovations makes a kit that gives you a longer throw cable and a adapter to make it work with your stock pole.... Check out my posts or BByamahas posts and you will see our setups. I am running the Ts innovations quik steer kit and just put on a PHAT clamp and riser bars yesterday! You have to do some serious cutting to your pad if your gonna run those phat riser bars in any sort of upright position..... Any questions feel free to ask. I just finished doing everything you are wondering about.....

or...... if you got the cash just buy a rrp pole, but that is a serious chunk of change. not including the new cable, plate, clamps, bars.... and it goes on and on and on......

You'll need purchase a stainless male-female threaded extension if your cable is too short or just purchase a pre-07 steering cable for some extra throw.

You wish it was that easy... the 08+ SJ pole (fx-1 pole) does not allow the easy cable swap to a 07 and earlier cable.....

Yes, you need the adapter and cable at a minimum. You can't run the stock pre 07 cable without the adapter.

The adapter we make uses your stock pole and a heavy duty cable that is waynicer then the 07 and .5" longer stroke.

Send me an email and I can get you some prices on what you want.
We have cable and adapter and turnplates that use your factory bushings. The whole kit is on ebay, but you can just buy the cable and adapter if you want to use a different turn plate and bearing system

How did you get it adjusted with the outside hole...? I tried and I could not get it lined up straight and true on the outside hole.....not enough threads in to make me feel comfy cozy with it....

I took a dremmel to the turn nozzle and also grinded the crap out of a old chin pad I had so it would clear up top and down below. Holy crap does it make a hell of a difference from the inside to the outside! It just takes 2 people and some time...
