i wonder if the splines have jumped and binded. sure seems like it. i would put some big pry bars in the pump area and carefully pry, pull, beat and swear it out. pipe wrench the shafts and try to spin it and loosen it. can you get some wd-40 straw up in the midshaft from the pump side?

I also tried this. I left the ski last night nose down, with pb blaster down the driveshaft tube... What I didnt try was counter rotating the shafts. Dont know how to hold the driveshaft while its still in the boat.

Pull the coupler off or drill out the center.
You'll be able to get a punch onto the drive shaft and hopefully drive it out.

Air hammer on the midshaft coupler to try and break the corrosion. my 1990 sj pump is stuck in the midshaft, have not tackled removing it yet.

my 07 jet was similar to this, although not 'quite' as stuck.

get a rubber mallet have a friend hold the pump up as square as possible and bray the cr@p out of it - do not use a steel hammer for obvious reasons!

when mine came out, the splines were greased and seal pretty clean -i just put it down to being a bit stuck!

most likely salt water corrosion - splines jumped and binded!? give me a break.
