Custom/Hybrid 2011 Rok build

build up a little more on the rok the past week or so. these other rok builds have been getting me excited. got the water box placed and and put in the long exhaust hose. fits great. sanoman said his was too short. dont know this is how far back mine goes. ???

i also put on the pole and ran the lines. its tight. real tight for the steering cable. i havent dropped on my turnplate yet so i wont know exactly but as of now my steering cable runs infront under the water box then straight back and is so tight its suspended from the area to the balkhead tube that is only a inch off the buttom of the hull.

though i do have a problem now. i have a blowsion lift nozzle (remember these have the line on the top right side) yet me ski is plumbed like everyone elses on the bottom left. my idea was run it out the bottom left and snake it over the pump to the right top. now that would have worked fine but cable isnt long enough. What should i do. a) try to buy a longer cable b) weld two tabs to top right (1 on the steering ring and 1 on the reduction nozle to hold the cable) i also dont have a welder and will have to pay someone to attempt this. c) sell the entire thing and get something else. really dont want to do that. i like this nozzle, super aggressive.

with this ski i also got one of those funky nose pieces which i bought some cheap cookie cutters, laid them on turf, put a piece of wood over them, and smacked the hell out of it. made perfect cut outs. i put some blue vynle under for some extra interest.

also can someone answer me why i go through a rule 500 every single season riding? i think there was a thread about this. dont remember if there was ever a conclusion. clearly this rule was on a diet.

blowsion cable worked on mine, but pole is not extended all the way.

the cable would have worked for me if i had the tube that goes under the tray on the right side. since mine is plumbed on the complete opposite side i need about 6 more inches to go up and over the pump. how much extra cable did you have on yours.

I saw trickys yesterday his blowsion lift works great I think he did some modifying on it but not sure pm him and he will be glad to help I am sure

no extra cable. its tight from top to bottom. Its routed in the left rrp tube and up and over the pump in back. RRP pole is mounted all the way forward with 17" of tube exposed.

well ill be damn. huh. being that you have my EXACT setup im ____??? i guess i wont really know for sure until i put my turn plate and bolt up the bars and pull every extra bit down the pole.
what water box are you running. since im running stock i didnt have much of a option but to run it infront of the box because there wasnt enough room to run it over the top and then down under the gas tank. i figure that would be a couple inches wasted there.
also im curious as the cable i bought. this was a replacement to the original one i broke. i think they were the same skat cable though.

I am running the Xmetal box with the cable routed under the motor along side the left side of tank and up the left pole. Also running dual breather bracket from a rickter. I have a few more pics if you are interested.

l'm having the same problem with my cables, cause l'm running a stock box.l had to take my pole off sunday cause of another problem,so this gives me time to figure out what to do.At this point either way l run the cables, they are in a bind.l feel like it is more because the size of the box.l tried taking my breather hoses and dropping them down to the bottom of the hull, instead of top. That didn't work either.

Install a trim tube where you need it. Drill a hole the diameter of the pipe you use. Cut some teeth on a pipe and use it to cut through the foam. Install a new pipe and 5200 it in on both sides.

Run the cable behind the waterbox and down pipe side of hull beside the tank under the b-pipe (kinda between tank and waterbox to b-pipe tube). If you can make the crossover in back somewhere you should be fine. Keep in mind tricky has a billet pump I believe? It may be smaller in diameter.

i dont know what to say. im starting to think its the waterbox too. im not runing breather hoses. going to cut into the hood and go that route.

not a bad idea but its not easy as you make it sound. going through foam its going to be a bigger pain. but i might end up doing that. better then getting another trim.

Justin my x-metal box is available if you wanna switch. You'll just have to cap off the front exhaust outlet.
im going to take you up on that offer. not that i might keep it but to see how much i can gain. also i got the prop tool. let me know when you want to get it.

i tried everything and i wasnt getting it there. ill take another look at it and try that way. how tough is that foam if i end up trying to run another line through there? unfortunately i cant use the siphon pump because the blowsion setup didnt have one. i should have know that.

l think steve-uk's ATP box will work.My old xmetal box would work, but too LOUD!

And l'll try what Brain said about running the cable different.

yeah taking the line around the back side to the pipe side and around the tank got me about 2 more inches. looks like it will be possible now.

finally it started to all come together today. put the $10 graphics on, turfed the tray and footholds. now i just need lay up the rails and it will be just about be complete on the outside. only left of the outside would be to put on to be nose piece and put on the water outlets. not going to do those until i drop in a engine and figure out how/where i want the lines. Cool, distinctive graphics. What engine are putting in it?:deal:
dont have one yet. looking at a few setups. ive seen what you've got. :) just looking for a sweet deal. i figure i got a few monts, so not in a hurry.

looks good, What is the length of your pole? Looks really short.
not sure what length those bars are but they all the way maxed out. i want to say they were meant for a SJ set up. they will be shorter than im used to but kind of glad to have to go shorter and learn a shorter and stiffer pole set up.
