Did some more turfing. Well finished all the turfing.
Question. What are you guys doing with a pole pad and hood straps. glueing them to the pole, cutting the pad basically into three pieces, cutting slots in the bottom of the pad and having to feed the straps through the bottom of the pad every time you you put the hood on? let me know some different ideas.

This is how riverrat did his pole pad.l think it works out fine. But you could glue the pad to the pole for a clean look. And l like how you did the rear corners with the turf all flowing the same way!

NEED HELP SHIMMING

while bolting up the midshaft i could not get the pump straight from SIDE TO SIDE. in this picture its kind of hard to tell but the mid is too far to the left. how do i straighten this. i tried lots of things like shimming one side which actually help alot but it still does get it centered. also i know your not supposed to shim the front but i have to to get the shaft down. it was too high. is this ok to do being that its a rok. any help with these would really help.

also the other picture is the res switch that i mounted upfront under the pole infront of the hood. I know most guys dont run them but i really wanted to have it on the boat because 1. im going from a 701 to 904 2. have a smaller tank 3. we tend to chase boat far down the river and i dont want to be towed that far back so this will be my turn around reminder.

I hate to say it, elongate the holes. This seems to be a part of building aftermarket ski's. At least you realize it. I think most people just assemble them out of align.

thats what i figured. ill go that route. i guess its a easy fix if it doesnt move around after its bolted up. if its off 1/4'' at the midshaft, i guess i only need to take less than 1/16'' off the front and rear ears.

i was in the same situation, i just drilled the holes out a little and it gave me plenty of side to side movement. i also had to shim the front on my rn, actually i had to shim the entire pump down to the point where the steering nozzle rubs the ride plate at the cable connection. it was the only way to get it centered for the mid shaft

looks like your trying to align the mid shaft with the midshaft assembly mounted onto the end of the drive shaft... the weight of the mid shaft will naturally pull the assembly down

how i have done it in the past is to mount the pump and check where it sits in the drive shaft hole, get it centred and then mount the mid shaft

as soon as you put the mishaft assembly on the end of the drive shaft, not bolted, the midshaft assembly will look like it wont line up
