2011+ Superjet

Anybody have one of these? The 2011+ are sold for "competition use only", must be purchased with a racing license, and can be legally registered, correct?

When practicing outside of a closed course you must obey all local laws and statutes. Flotation, fire extinguisher, noise maker etc ...

State police (or any local entity) generally dont enforce federal laws so I'm not really sure what would happen or who would issue what. If it's not registered that's a different story, but if it is registered I would imagine anything before the law is passed would be grandfathered in.

The 2011 SX-R is legal because it was produced before the new law took effect in January 2012. I don't understand why the 2011 SJ was sold as "competition use only" in 2011, but it was. There was some kind of agreement with the EPA regarding the 2011 SJ to sell it that way even though it should have still been 100% legal.

Get an ijsba license and bring some buoys with you when you ride, then there's no disputing the issue if the authorities were to get involved.

Like I said 'Practicing'

because in actuality you are. I am prepared but have not been challanged by the authorities. And on labor day I was floating and chatting with the marine patrol at least 10 minutes waiting for a slip.

As always fun is like virginity, one prick and its gone.

It all depends on the location and how you present what you are doing. Residential lake, forget it. They can throw the book at you at will. But the fact remains people still race PWC and most people don't have a private lake.
