SXR 2011 SXR blew up after 2 hours of use

I have never ridden a jet ski before this, it never went WOT I was just learning how to turn it. So as far as break in period it was being broken it easily, it may have blown up in the first few min if somone experienced was riding it.

What dealer has it right now? Did they actually send in parts For inspection or just base there findings off of pics ? Seems like alot of hear say and no real facts. Of course they'll say it was water intrusion, thats the easiet thing to blame, even if it was a faulty part they don't want to pay for it so will blame whatever is considered abuse. I'd get on the phone and raise some hell. I think you'll be surprised what u might get to happen.

3g's sounds about right if they are using all new OEM parts.

errr, If you are new to this, is it possible you fell over? The SXR's let alot of water in when on their side, you might have actually injested water in and hydro locked it.

looks like it broke off at the wrist pin..???

the bend just may be from the impact with the cases

water intrusion from what i have seen is more of an shape to the rod.. a linear compression

also kawasaki would not warranty something for me, so i went back to dealer freaked out and they covered it. I called Kawi listed a formal complaint, etc etc. Sometimes people cant tell if you are lying or not, if it cannot be proven easily they take the cautious approach unless you squawk. Follow up and you will be suprised

good idea...I would call kawasaki EVERY DAY for the next year...make a nuisance of yourself, but always be polite of course

one time a few years ago I got into it with dish network...they said I watched over 1200 dollars worth of PPV movies in the course of a month during the daytime....I had timeslips proving I was at work....they even had to gall to ask me if my dog was chewing on the remote and activated the movies lol...eventually I won, but it took 2 hours a night for over 6 weeks...

1. GET YOUR SKI BACK and take pictures of all the parts.

2. If you never sunk it, it should be covered and you are going to have to raise some hell and make some phone calls. DO NOT let the dealer do the work, unless it is covered by the waranty.

Good point DJ, get the dealer on your side. Tell them if its not warranted by Kawi you can not afford to fix it so you will take elseware or fix yourself. If it voids the warranty its useless any way right? Prove your point in life, but make sure you are looking at it from others perspective. You have to make the dealer want to be on your side, its in their interest to make money, if its easier to get from you than Kawi, then they will. If you call the dealer and Kawi and give then a reasonable excuse to back you they will. They want the 3K, if not from you then from Kawi.

I would get a different dealer. Does your current dealer do many watercrafts? You need to get a good deler with knowledge to support the claim. I blown motor after a few hrs in BS, Kawasaki will cover it.
