Custom/Hybrid 2012 BOB G3K/ EME 1105 - Pro Freestyle Comp Ski

After months of planning, building and tuning, I am proud to announce my new Pro Freestyle World Championship watercraft – The EME 1105cc G3K BOB Hull.

We started with a hull that I knew and loved, and gave it the drive train I needed.
After a very successful 2011 season, I knew that the BOB was the Hull for me. So to start on my 2012 Pro Freestyle competition ski, we started with a light-weight G3K hull. I was put in contact with Eric Malone of EME, and several phone calls later, I found a brand new EME 1105cc engine sitting on a shelf with the rest of my parts for my build.

Barrel Roll

The assembly went very smooth. We had no issues fitting the EME engine (Polaris bolt-pattern) into our BOB hull (Yamaha bolt-pattern), as EME supplied a composite bed plate which allowed us to bolt up the engine after drilling a few simple bolt holes.The entire build took about 8 hours from start to finish (bare empty hull to RTR), and we were on the water the same day.

The power was unlike anything I’ve felt before. Coming from a Yamaha based 850, I was used to all the power on the bottom end, with instant launch off the throttle. The EME1105 was completely different, and for the better. The power was super-smooth while making my set up wakes, and going back to it, I would have to carry a little more speed, but the amplitude I gained from having all the power in the mid-range was absolutely unreal.

All of my tricks were instantly +3x bigger, and I was still learning how to use the power. Needless to say that I was far more than impressed, and the fact that my paper-thin (1-layer visual Texillium, 1-layer kevlar) G3K BOB hull was so easy to throw around and took a hell of a beating was simply incredible as well. I've only had about 3 tanks of ride time on the new set up, and each time I'm getting more comfortable with the power, and my tricks are definitely much bigger. These pictures are from my first time out, so I was still learning how to use the power. The guys I ride with were telling me that my head from Barrel Rolls is easily 8 feet out of the water, and I know the EME1105 can take me higher.

We are excited to work with Derrick and his team for 2012. Everything just fell together perfectly. It is great to be involved and support other professional riders with an open mind. Derrick had an awesome run in 2011, so we can't wait to see what he does with the EME power.

I want to get a little more time on the ski before I shoot some video - this ski has the potential to pull off some wicked height like in that vid!

I have never had a ski that I've wanted to ride so much before! It's got all the power of a big block, but not as obnoxious and easier to control while cruising around.
 
Wow Dk another new variation on the G3 hull composites?! Cant wait to see a video once you get it "dialed in" but it looks like you got the hang of the new motor already!

This hull is basically a super thin G3 Kevlar.. the only difference is I requested that they did a visual Texillium (silver carbon fiber like fabric). The Texillium is not by any means a very strong material, and it's only used for aesthetics. Thanks!

SICK !!!!!!!! love that color scheme too ,simply f:(:(:ing awesome .the new body lines on g-3 are defiantly cool .i'm digging the rounder body lines of the top deck on the new g-3 design ! im sure teamed up with an 1100 EME powerplant that is a great package ....hang on to your hat when you pull the trigger, DK !!! AWSOME

Thanks Rob! The whole set up is definitely wicked, I was blown away by how much different the EME power is than my previous engine. The insane height that Lee was getting last year on his EME all makes sense now, I can't wait to get some more water time!

BTW check Lucas, Ratti and Stroyer vids or pics, EME is not the only one to get serious height with their engine !!

Another deal breaker was how helpful Eric was with everything. The pictures at the top dont do any justice for how the ski is flying now.

I can tell by the pics that that thing has some serious launch , I think that displacement will be the perfect amount of braaaaapppppp..right on Dk !
