Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want
Had my eyes open for a hull. I want to be on the water shredding in March. So we needed to get the ball rolling. I wanted a Badass....then a V3...

How Soon Is Now?
This thing was a few hours away from another user and well.. I like money so saving some with a used 12year old hull was a good proposition.

This Night Has Opened My Eyes
2012 Watercraft Factory Vision
Got the Hull, Pole, and some misc parts. Buddy picked up the roundnose. Seriously. Who doesn't love a good buying day trip with a good buddy.

Research said it's a great all rounder, "like an 08+ SuperJet on crack" that's LITERALLY what I want let's goooooo!

This Charming Man
Got it home basked in its glory first night..just stared at it as you do.
Super stoked on the hand holds firehosing (or attempting to) a grumpy friend of ours is my new favorite past time I've been working on with the 440.

Handsome Devil
Took some stickers off. Hit it real quick with some M210 and a Foam pad.. my favorite post purchase justifier and it popped!!

Accept Yourself
Poked inside to realize what on earth I'm getting into. Need to start rounding up some parts. I'm sure aligning this will be fun.

These Things Take Time
Today. After diagnosing a few sadly broken RC crawlers.. decided to get destructive... Turfs tired, not a fan. Trust in the process...

1000063824.jpg

Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now
Much more cleanup to do. But overall nothing too scary. Looks like there's some kinda patchwork with 5200 maybe on the left side foothold. Guess I'll have to try and help that out. Need to clean up the turf and glue mess more.
1000063827.jpg

Hand In Glove
One of the front foot strap mounts ripped out. Which I may just do something different there and get rid of it. I'd have to move it left foot forward anyway. I've got real used to the foam toehold on the squarenose.. may try and replicate. I'm not really a strap/foothold guy. That could change.

Reel Around The Fountain
So some plans. As of this moment... subject to change of course.
Ported 760 (@Jr. I'll be annoying you soon) + Zeel + Bpipe + mild psis
RN waterbox
RN tank
148 Solas non setback (I don't think 155 will easily fit this hull)
Need to find a trim setup

Girl Afraid
Am I gonna wish I had a 155, would it be worth going OEM 155 and riddling getting it in this hull vs going 148 solas? Maybe not that big a deal with this size tunnel and just a 760.

What Difference Does It Make?
So... I'm trying to decide how much padding to put back in. The amount in here seemed a bit excessive.....2" in the footholds to I guess to attempt to level it, then what I think is 1" everywhere else. The sides of the tray are a little lower around the tunnel and taper inward. But I found an original picture of the ski, which looks like it's prolly just a 1/2in or 1" at most pad all around no leveling of the foothold pockets. Any thoughts? I'm tempted to just do 1" across and just let it contour as the ski was originally by the looks.

Still Ill
Anyone got some good magazines or reading material... I need some inspiration. I initially thought to do some pink with the blue.... But then gender reveal was mentioned to me and I can't unsee it

I can do the safe route. Make everything black. Or go white graphics, black turf blah blah. I like colors. I want this thing to pop. Only so many turf colors but I wanna get creative. Open to any ideas.

You've Got Everything Now

I'm super stoked! Haven't been this excited in a while. I absolutely cannot wait to get this thing on the water and party. Seems like the perfect blank canvas to make something nice, worst case I build a setup for a future hull.

I like it! Is it based off an OEM? Visually and size wise it looks pretty similar to my ROK which is a great intro all rounder imo.

Definitely looking like I'm gonna need to bring in the glass work around the footholds

Looks to me like 5200 to repair some cracks. Which is something I'd do ironically. It doesn't feel like 5200 though way harder of a material. Acetone doesn't touch it. Rubber eraser wheel does though.

Going to continue to clean it up and see what I end up with. Too soon to say I feel.

Same story with the front foot hold. Probably will just close these up and run without.

I always felt the Vision was an under rated hull. Really Nice all around Freeride Hull
If I had to pic a point for improvement? It would be the foot Holds. Not roomy enough for big feet, and the roof is shallow
for locking in. If it was me, I would look into replacing with T1 holds by Toby @TOBY
Your welcome to stop by and stand in my tray to see for yourself. Do this Before you get into returfing!

Just looking at that tray makes me cringe. So narrow with footholds in the way.
I did some measuring off the top of the gunwales. It's standard SJ width at the front of the tray and progressivly widens to about 2"wider at the rear. I get the goal of widest tray possible but I'm not tied to it. I'm lanky trying to keep it that way. I can have a lot of fun on a stock 550 without a complaint.

I'd like that. I'm kinda lost on the kinematics of what makes a good foothold. They way they were with 2"+ of padding in there I really couldn't stick my shoe too far in. At the same time though I really don't wanna clutter the tray with a bunch of stuff. I'm always moving around in the tray. Normally riding left foot forward right back/center

Right, mobility is key. Able to move around and be comfortable as you rip sections, but a foothold that is big, and easlily accessable when your go inverted. My surf boat holds are loose fit to be easy entry, but able to exit quickly if something goes wrong.
thats exactly what I didnt like about the Vision holds, they were toe holds and not ft holds. Too small for my liking

The vision looks sorta superfreakish. If you change the footholds, I'd recommend the adjustable holds from tigercraft or rrp ninja holds. They're easy to install abd even easier to turf. And they're adjustable so no worries on adding too much or not enough padding like on the nonadjustable holds that are in there now. I put some in my old round nose and they were very comfortable.
