Super Jet 2013 Superjets

I talked to the Yamaha rep about this last month, "We have no intentions of stopping production of our Yamaha Superjet." He laughed and then said, "Why would you even ask that?"

Superjets don't sell in the States because they aren't promoted and you can't even buy them in some States. US superjet market makes up a small percentage of the entire world. I see new 2012 superjets at the Gold Coast every week...I would go as far as to say that it is more common to ride a jet ski in the surf at the Gold Coast then it is to own a dirt bike and ride the track.

There is like 40ish riders that actively ride surf in California. There are hundreds that ride Gold Coast.

With mining going on in Australia, these guys are making $150-250k PA. 2012 Superjet costs how much? $10k? I'll take 2 please...

Sounds like the sales men i full of it, if yamaha come out and said they will be selling the sj in 2013 they wont even hit the floors till next year. Sound odd to me. If u was a betting man i would say no go for 2013, what i think some don't understand is they would sell if they could. But with the emission issues they can't.

No idea what you just said, but emissions isn't an issue in Kuwait, France, Australia, Malaysia, NZ etc. The 2013 Superjet will be available. Superjet market is not America, its the rest of the world.

I think the op was talking about buying them in the us not outside the country. so if they still make them they will not be able to sell them overhere. and emissions is an issue thats why there are no more sxr's

I hope your're right Kevin, that will be great news, even for Americans because that will ensure that we can get parts. I'm only skeptical because a friend of mine who works at Kawasaki said they have discontinued the SXR world wide, so if two strokes aren't an issue in other parts of the world why would Kawi not continue to sell them there?

That's because SXR suck balls and no one buys them world wide :lmao:JK. I sure hope they continue producing the SJ, but only time will tell.

I'd be lost without the x
KR Isn't that the 2012?

I'm not sure if its a 2012 or 2013, but usually they keep the same graphics for at least 2 years. Example: 2008 and 2009 have the same graphics. 2010 and 2011 have the same graphics. It would make sense if 2012 and 2013 keep the same BNG's.

The pic is a 2012. The picture is merely showing that Yamaha supports the production of a superjet. I don't know why Kawasaki stopped production, Im just a simpleton. I would imagine its because the Superjet has been marketed better to be a recreational and freestyle machine while Kawasaki just fell a bit short.

Yami-rider is spot on. I can't say what will happen to the US, but the guys at Yamaha Australia are in full support of production.

As long as Yamaha keeps producing SJ's somewhere I'm happy. Insures replacement parts.. even though my ski is slowly becoming more and more a/m.

your right that they have marketed great as a freestyle ski. But kawasaki marketed the sxr as a race ski. And I think the rec riders are about 50/50. Where I live i see 10-12 sxrs to every sj. I ride big water and the sj just doesnt stay hooked up I have a freestyle rn that I never ride because for me it just dosnt hold a candle to my sxr. I get the attraction to the sj but i think there is alot of hype that the rn just can't hold up to. Imo!!!!!!

I would like to know th production numbers for both in 2011

Where i ride, there are almost no SXRs at all. I can see the SXR shining in rough choppy water over the SJ though.

I'll ask my local dealer about the 2013 Superjets. Might have to order to get one though, last couple years my local dealer only stocked 1 SJ at a time.
