Well no registration/proof of ownership will get you Fkd anywhere there is cops lol. Antrim County sheriff did ticket someone last year for no boaters safety. I'd make sure your stuff is as legit as possible. I have never been asked for a Fire extinguisher there, but that doesnt mean they wont ask.

I know this is not the place to post this but I figure a bunch of you guys ride together and you will see it. There is a resort on Lake Huron in Oscoda they have a nice beach and are pretty cool they hosted a race a few years back I went to. I'm actually going up there this weekend for a wedding if you guys want I can ask if they would be interested in hosting another group of rowdy jetskiers. This is just an idea for another freeride event, I will ask when I'm up there and I will snap some pictures of the beach/surf because me my father in law and my brother in law are taking our skis.

Ive been by that place a ton of times. Pretty cool little place. Id def be down for a oscoda ride at some point(my grand parents live up there). Plenty of cool places to ride around there.

Hey terry, torch lake on a holiday weekend with a unregistered boat would NOT be a good idea at all. Just a heads up, you will not get a warning.

Just got off the phone with the DNR about the event. The purpose of the permit allows us to actually section off water and allow no other traffic in that area, or if the ride is big enough where we (the jet skiiers) are restricting water use in any way. Unfortunately, they will not be able to allow us to break state law on the 150' even within a closed course.

The only thing the DNR would like to see is us staying away from shore as much as possible, because they did receive noise complaints last year from residents. However, he said if we are 150' off shore we are not breaking any laws as long as our skis arnt violating decibel levels which is the same for open header boats. We kept the permit this year because the residents cant really complain about a approved event. I also informed him a lot of us have small fuel tanks and that is why we stay close to shore.

Someone informed me that southtorchresort might have a few rooms left, they are walking distance from the launch.

Also please give me a head count, and how many shirts you would buy, so I can decide if I should order em.

Thanks for sharing the info, looks like the permit doesn’t give us much but at least it shows we are trying to abide by the rules. Good decision to keep the permit!
I am in for 4 or 6 shirts.

Cool, maybe we can hook up and do something one of those nights. I will probably have the g/f with me so if anyone wants to do a group thing with there g/f or wife's, it would keep her off my back a little bit. lol. Not really sure what there is to do around there cause I've never been but the cherry festival is definitely an option.

Ill have my girlfriend up there with me also (if I go) I want to I really enjoyed it last year. Even though I sold my stand up. I still have a couch to ride.

Hey moto x - didn't you have your SXR on craigslist last year? Is this the one you sold? If you wanna ride I can bring an extra stand up for you. Its nothing fancy, just a 550sx-650 conversion. Something to get you around the lake if you wanna ride tho. And maybe are g/f can keep each other busy while we ride.

We have a few more local riders in my crew coming up, I am guessing we are close to 20 this year.

I have also been researching one of the parks on the east side of the lake near Alden, Ill check it out more closely next time I'm up there but it may be a great place to hold the event for future years, if the lack of lodging works out. Im not sure if we can beach cart launch there but it is a big park with baseball field and stuff which would be a great place to all meet and ride from there rather than the meet on the sandbar thing. However, its not really a ride-able distance to the sandbar.

I'll be there with the wife. Coming up Thursday night and staying at Everflowing Waters campground which is about 20 minutes away from the launch. They still have some rustic sites available if anybody is looking for a place to stay.

Damn I wish I was a better rider and had a better Ski to join you guys. I'm still a newb to stand ups. I should try and load up the Honda Aquatrax and bring them out. Or maybe convince my buddy to bring his X-Star out so you guys can get some good wake. Anyways looks like a blast wish I could come to just check out the skis. Everyone have fun and be safe.
