I was really shocked to hear this but am so proud of Team Extreme for standing up for what they believe in. After reading the news articles (I had no idea about this as I don't get a lot of "home" news now that I live in NC) I was absolutely blown away and disgusted and you guys are 100% doing the right thing.
This year's hiatus is unfortunate but I do want to stop and thank you guys for the years past, you do an amazing job with the organization and every year gets better and better. Can't wait to see it come back in 2015!

I'm new to the area (still 4 hours away), but I was really looking forward to this event! I haven't seen the article, but if there's anything I can do to help, I would gladly do so. Even if we try to organize another freeride somewhere else on Lake Erie?

we will certainly miss hosting the event this year... Brian and Drew do a killer job of organizing the event, and the rest of the team goes above and beyond to ensure a great, safe and fun event.

Yikes, yea, I just saw a bunch of articles how the owner's wife is under investigation for a hit-and-run death while being under the influence. I would be interested to hear more about the story and why the ride is cancelled.

I would think that is why it's canceled. that's grounds for prison sentencing and shutting down a business. I have not read the articles but if alcohol is involved and it was supplied by the bar I could see it being forced to shut down. This really sucks.
