2014 SJ steering blows

We have a 01 RN that is out with us every weekend. I agree with you that they are a little less stable in a hard turn, but they seem to turn really sharp without needing to lay the ski over since they slide so much easier. IMO if you want to turn sharp on a post 08 you have to lay it over and throttle it more. I dunno. I guess both have their difficulties.

^^ FPF, So i sacked up and bought a xmetal pole and blowsion HD cable for my 09.. Also moved the steering mount on the nozzle closer in. And installed a UMI quicksteer system. First off the blowsion cable is nice but a pain in the a$$ to install on the xmetal pole.
Besides all the work to install and get right all i can say is WOW

ANYONE who has a 08+ SJ, BUY A 96-07 steering cable and a pre 08 handle pole and mount the steering cable closer to the nozzle. And get a quicksteer setup..
The ski will ACTUALY turn now.. Still rails SUPER hard and doesn't slide out unless you want it to no surprise there... But it will spin 360's or power sub 180's just like a pre 08 ski with quicksteer..
Its pretty much now the ultimate SJ... I'm so happy with the outcome.. Thank you Twake for helping me custom fabing everything it took to make it work!

Guys just bought a 14 and finally got three tanks through it. I would like better steering as well what's the least expensive way to do this. I have 0 degree blowsion bars love the boat just wish I could slide it on a 90 with a quick snap of the bars.

Nope, there is no least expensive way in this sport.. mount the ball on the steering nozzle closer to the nozzle its self (to the left)
that will help with a little more throw. But you need a 96-07 cable and 96-07 pole and a quicksteer steering setup, and your 2014 will be amazing. It'll spin 360's and power sub like no ones business and still rail just as hard as ever.

I always had difficulties with the 08+ sliding out. Really had to turn it flat (no body weight transfer), lots of speed and a bit of throttle to get it side ways. Doing a slow speed 180 involved placing weight forward, turning flat and crank steering/throttle. I always ended up watching the front bond rail, because if it catches and you're still on the throttle it will sub. Longer throw steering cable and front destroyer tubbies seemed to help with slow speed 180's.
