Ok, The de-salt (salt terminator) i bought is suppose to put a protective layer on/inside the motor, but i will use some kind of oil too. I know WD propels water, so idk why that wont work just fine.

pack some dielectric grease in all your connections and spray your eng compartment down with some form of silicone type spray.......I love fluid film, best stuff around.....but it ain't cheap. I guess I need to start taking orders for shirts this weekend.

Dude don't stress it its 3 days WD40 is fine
Before you come down prep you ski good or you will be chasing gremlins

I have never been to surf, so i wanted know what you veterans use to help protect from salt cancer. I am also kinda anal about my toys lol. I keep my stuff pretty mint, so gremlins shouldn't be a problem.

I have always used dielectric grease, great stuff.

Can we pay for them when we get there? I will for sure be down for 1 medium. Ill have to see if any of my buddies want one.

I ride 90% of the time in salt water. Spray Silicone spray on everything under your hood before you ride. Flush the inside and outside of your ski with Salt away including your gear, you will be fine for 3 days of riding.

Ive never seen white Silicone spray, every can I have ever used was clear. Yes you can use WD-40 but that chit gets everything nasty black grease film a few days later.

Where can you buy salt away at?

I was wondering the same thing.
Found it on Amazon. Might not be the cheapest, but you'll have it before the end of the week and you don't have to drive around looking.

This appears to be a engine flush adapter that will work with it: http://www.amazon.com/CRC-SXMXR-Ter...UTF8&qid=1396884258&sr=8-5&keywords=salt+away

Annnnnd this is a combo pack with the solution and the adapter:

And last but not least, a cheaper combo pack from a different brand.

damn, I really had no idea what kind of damage riding in salt water could cause. I'll be taking more precaution from now on before the next time I go out in the surf. Last year I went out there probably a dozen times and I only flushed it once when I put it up for the winter. I ride about 10-15 miles down the colorado river to get to the beach and then back up the river to get home.... maybe that was enough of a fresh water flush to save me. I definitely don't get as crazy as yall do out in the surf either, I'm sure if I was tryin to get upside down I'd get a lot more salt under the hood. But damn.... I mean, I knew it was corrosive but I didn't know you needed to coat your engine in lube beforehand.

Is camping a viable option for this beach? I've never been. I might throw a air mattress in my truck, but i'll still be on the hunt for fresh water to rinse off with....

Most important thing is make sure your electrical connections are sealed. Electrolosis is the biggest killer. If you get salt water in your ebox, it can go to crap in a few minutes.

Camping is fine at our spot. Usually about half of us camp. Make sure you get a beach pass at a local gas station. There are usually one or two campfires and plenty of us hanging out late. Check out the link in my signature for details on camping, riding ext. There are cold showers at some of the entrances to the beech. The shower water is fairly warm by late April.

I am working to update the rules section on my signature. One small change to note on camping is that we must be 300 feet away from the beach access roads. In the past, we have gotten close to access road 1. Better to move down a few markers to marker 27 or 28 or further.
