Hello everyone! Welcome to the fall 2015 Carolina Beach Freeride at Freeman Park discussion thread! (otherwise known as the north end). For those who do not know what Freeman Park is, it is a 4x4 only beach access that you can camp on and bring your skis to ride surf any time of the year. Basically this is a freeride weekend event starting Thursday and ending Sunday evening. There is an access fee at the entrance to Freeman Park and it is 30 dollars per night or you may buy a season pass for 150 dollars (75 dollars in December) and it will cover you for both the spring and fall freeride. You would need to bring all necessary camping gear, food, and beverages for the weekend. There is a grocery store and gas stations near Freeman Park for your convenience.

Everyone if you need to take a shower in the evenings or before you head home on Sunday there are public showers and water spickets for flushing out your skis at the lifeguard station and public parking lot towards the end of Canal drive right before the entrance to Freeman Park. There's also much nicer restroom facilities there than the porta potties on freeman park.

The camping area will be at the very point of Freeman Park where jet skis and boats are allowed to be pulled up on the beach at any time.

Note: this is a 4x4 vehicle only event, you either need to be able to take your skis out to the Park in the bed of a truck, hitch hauler, or Snow's Cut boat ramp is nearby and skis can be launched from there and driven around to the camping area on the point in a less than 5 minute drive! I highly suggest hitch haulers or truckbed methods! No trailers are allowed on Freeman Park! I will obtain a pass to allow unattached trailer parking at Snow's Cut Public Ramp again.

Date for the 2015 fall event is October 1st-4th!

P.S. There is no glass liquor or bottled beer allowed on Freeman Park, only cans ;)

I was at Carolina Beach on a camping trip with some friends and met a couple of guys on stand ups that told me about this forum. They also invited me to come back for the Carolina Free Ride event. I have been looking forward to it ever sense! I currently have my ski in a million pieces trying to get it ready with lots of new parts. (hydro turf, foot holds, 9-15 Impros Hooker prop, Blowson free style cone) I also have to repair my gas tank mounts and battery mount, apparently surf is hard on your ski. I'm looking forward to meeting some more of you guys and getting sand in everything I own like last time I was there.

Well I had a blast riding surf, can't wait to get back out there. I didn't have an aluminum pole on it then but I'm going to build one when I get a little time. @King Kang

It was good riding with y'all, I think I'm about to start a back flip ski. I found a 95-97 wetjet 300sx gold 701 61x for 800$ with a trailer. (Not running) what hull?? Rickter, B.O.B., Hurricane? @Gunner_626

Well I ended up getting the 95 wetjet for $100. I pulled the motor out of my 650sx tonight to clean the hull and fix everything that broke loose (Battery box, gas tank straps, 1 motor mount). Plus my pjs exhaust needs a weld fixed on the expansion chamber. I am thinking about putting the 701 61x in my old hull for a while until I save up enough for a good hull. I really want to flip it just because everyone says you can't. I'm probably going to need more power than the stock 65hp though (61x). Either way, it will be better for surf with the hooker prop and foot holds than it was with a 16.5 skat trak prop and crusty old turf.
