2019 Rickter Edge FS Build

Greetings X-h20ers - I am soon to be a proud owner of a 2019 Edge FS - Blue Camo . Ordered it yesterday! Cant wait to start my build, let the countdown begin. Do any of you own LimitedSlip's 3.3 or 4.7 tanks? Hows this all fit with the RRP Pipe, it sounds like the 4.7 may be a little too snug. Wondering if I'm better off with the 3.3 tank?

I'll probably have lots of questions so please be patient with me.

I’d consider what your plans are for this ski, for surf riding the limited slip 3.3 is a great tank, I ran one with a TNT lay down pipe and loved it. But if you plan on riding flat water at all I would probably stick with a rear tank. My buddy can flat water flip his 781/144mag powered edge but a front tank would eliminate that possibility with a small motor. If your motor is any smaller I wouldn’t worry about flatwater anyway, but just food for thought as you design your build.

This will be a Flatwater ski with the following powerplant: TPE 1021 (php lightweight crank), FS 48s on a Boysen intake, MSD Enhancer, RAD lightweight flywheel, TNT Pipe, 148 Torrent Pump, XS Trim with b pipe mod.

That will be super fun. Times 10 with a rear tank. I removed a 5 gal limited slip in my phantom and went to a kart tank and gained about 3ft+ of height on average. A rear tank vs a front tank will be huge. Also, I never ran more than 1-2 gal in the front tank

I have the first version of 4.7 and it fits with RRP pipe but is close. Limited slip has moded them since for more clearance.

Parts are pouring in but have a while to wait for the Hull. What are the Rickter Edge guys doing to protect these from Sinking. is this something I should be concerned about or do Rickters have enough foam to keep them afloat?

I don’t think it’ll float without some foam in the engine bay. That being said, I’ve yet to see an Edge with foam in the engine bay.

My 16 fiberglass XFR sunk with no extra flotation, I’d expect the same from the Edge.

Is pour foam a no no in the nose? I know everyone avoids it in the tray but I need to replace the foam I removed in the nose of my square. Im going to be using pour foam to cut out my new pole bracket area and I could leave it when I am done for flotation.

pump bolts are not the same as SJ OEM Bolts!!!!!!!!! Get Tayor to send you the correct ones. If you are running trim, then you may need a longer one for that side, if you are running a thrust loop that bolts to the right side nozzle bolt same thing, longer bolt.

ThanksI read that on the Rickter Forum, was wondering if any changes were made to the Pump area to resolve that.

They just use a larger bolt. not sure why.

Might as well start off with a freshly rebuilt Starter. Tieing back the Brushes with Zip ties makes putting it back together a breeze.

Ebox back from JetSki Solutions, purchased all new cables too. Don't want any Electrical Gremlins in this build.

Fun with Dremels - Received the TNT Exhaust manifold. Time to port match it to my TPE then polish it.
