Few things I have noticed/changed since building my Edge in case your interested:
1) On super windy choppy days at the lake when there are 3 foot swells I bolt on the Rear sponsons and the ski is So much fun. The rear sponsons make this ski ride like a dream! After buying the ski I rode with the rear sponsons on to start then took them off and thought I would never use them again. Until recently if it was windy or super windblown choppy the ski was more work than fun. Its amazing how such a simple 5 minute bolt on part can totally change the way the ski rides on really crappy water. Its like adding training wheels onto the ski, definitely flattens out a chopped up lake.
2) Until recently I have been riding with a medium ride plate. Over the winter I purchased a short plate and finally installed it this week. I rode it yesterday on a somewhat windy choppy lake (w/o rear sponsons) . I honestly prefer the shorter plate. I think my setup wake is better (bigger) than with the Medium Plate. The ski is way more playful and fun so I plan to stick with a short plate. One thing I am still interested to try is the short plate with the rear sponsons on whitecap day. The transition between the two plates was seamless. For the record I weigh between 185 and 190.
3) 148- Torrent pump. My engine setup is a TPE 1021 with tnt pipe and Fs 48s and 87 mm reduction nozzle. I was running a 9/15 with a standard cone. This spun up quick but left me hanging then seemed to sign off. I changed to a 10/17 with the same cone and this was a great setup. Recently I swapped my standard cone with a stubby cone and this seemed to be the missing link for my pump setup.
4) Flow guard - Adding the flow guard with the B Pipe coupler mod is a complete success. Since adding the flow guard my B pipe Coupler mod has stayed intact. I used to go threw the B Pipe couplers every few rides now its just a great combo. Between this and the above changes I think I am dialed in on my pump now.
5) Adding the 2 extra Air intakes to the back of the hood have been amazing. This ski was definitely air hungry but I think I have resolved that problem now. They Air tube routing is working perfectly. I am not having and water injestion problems when doing tricks. Another fun thing is I can still do a fountain for days without worrying about taking water into the engine compartment. I know if I had installed the Ninja hood scoop water ingestion would be an issue. The air intake is a success!
6) I installed heal lifter wedges in my foodholds, this is a definite must. I will take a pic and share but its nothing different than what everyone else is doing.
7) Thrust ball valve - Since installing this I have had zero water intake issues when leaving the ski sitting on the scissor stand or floating in the water. I highly recommend this product.
