How strict are they in the PWC zone about Reg numbers and fire extinguishers? Am I not going to be able to ride the official zone without them? My ski is registered, I just need to get my wrap done and put the stickers on. Also, the piece on the back of my hood ripped out so I don't have an extinguisher mount installed atm.

I guess we have one Daytona freeride page for the riders and one for the promoters now ?

I am just an outsider, I don't ride surf and I don't go to Daytona to ride so April makes more sense to me , just my opinion ,I just enjoy the atmosphere but it looks to me like it is now open season for some other freeride to step up and take over the title of worlds biggest freeride , the only question is which one is it going to be ?

The tides seem about what they normally would be. Theres been plenty of years where during the event the water has come up to the poles. There's hurricane damage to various seawalls and beach access but the water doesn't seem higher. Maybe it's just that it's pretty flat and the waves aren't being push up very far today. Cars were onthe beach near the hardrock before lunch.

There was a bunch of political stuff where they were trying to end beach driving. Is it really the tides that are the problem or is the council just using the hurricanes as excuses to stop beach driving and etc.? Not trying to fan the flames but it definitely seems like more and more the people in charge of policy are trying to push us out everywhere. My local lake they roped off the ~20ft of beach we had to stop us from congregating and riding there.

Here's the link to the Hard Rock Daytona Web cam. It looked like a pond out there today. You are correct, they (Volusia County) have been trying to get driving off the beach for a while now. (The very thing that made Daytona unique) 1st by driving the beach permit price for your car to the moon. Next by building all the county owned parking lots along Atlantic Blvd. It really sucks not seeing everybody this weekend and heading to Don Peppers and the Oyster Bar for dinner! A 13-year tradition ended. https://www.fox35orlando.com/livecams-daytona-beach

I just made it back from the Fla Freeride, Hugo Version. Fantastic couple days! Yea, Surf wasnt with us, and you needed to wear a light jacket. But the Essence of True Freeride was as present as ever. Great Time driving on the beach and riding during the day, Campfires and Grilling Rock Shrimp at night. We ate and partied as good as ever, and it didn break the bank! Hear the Group that rode the zone also had a Great time. DFR as we once knew it might become a memorial? Florida surf riding is far from over.

We stayed in Daytona. I only saw 1 persona on the beach when I scoped out the ride zone on Friday and I was there by myself on Saturday. The kids didn't know the difference and the riding conditions were good for me but I did miss the event.
