2121 SJ is here! Orig: Is 2020 Really the Last Year of the Superjet? A call to Action.

Been living under a rock? This is how many are getting their ski's to the water now........ Ski's dont slide off unless your an idiot who does not know how to strap a ski down.
I don't think you understand the concept of hitch class and tongue weight. Please take a video of yourself with 400 lbs. on a class 2 hitch so we can all have a good laugh at your expense.

I think the new SJ is going to be too big unless you keep your tailgate open. Stick to a trailer for ease of use, one of your current trailers.
All trailers have skis on them lmao. My husband recently lost his job and works from home, we added a CNC machine to the garage and had to downsize trailers since our HOA doesn't allow them in the driveway.
The front seat folds down in the Matrix, I fit a pole saw in there the other day. Length really isn't my concern, mostly keeping it secure or like a rail system.

Get an Ez ski hitch hauler.
I stand corrected. Did not know that hitch above was only a class 2
Yeah there is no way that little car will be able to haul on a hitch hauler. I can stand on the tiny ass hitch and it bends lol. Not a fan of the hitch haulers anyway.

We have a truck and enclosed trailer that sits elsewhere, but the SJ can't fit in the bed with the tailgate down, and no room in the trailer with the other skis. I'm sure we can figure something out, but all options are not easy.

Even a class 3 or 4 would make me nervous with the weight of the 2021 being almost 400 lbs. Tongue weight rating is based on trailers, not hitch haulers that act as levers and multiply the force on the tongue. Every bump you hit is also going to multiply that force even further.

It's time you got on the HOA board. In my experience, they do not seem to fine board members . . .
Ehhh there is no way I have the time or want to do that, nor will it change living in a lake community.

We get around the trailers in the driveway by leaving the enclosed trailer attached to the truck whenever we have it at the house, but when we need to use the truck it is a pain in the ass. The sit down trailer is the pita now though, it got kicked out of the garage last night due to some big builds we have coming and the ski has been sitting in the driveway during the day for weeks...just waiting on that nastygram lol.

"Poor me I have too many toys"

:p
haha....the perks of not having a car payment and the Superjet being worth 5 times my daily. My bike is for sale and will fund the Superjet, but the bike has a much smaller footprint than a SJ on a trailer.

Which reminds me....anyone need a literbike?? ;)

Does your local storage facility offer vehicle storage? Might be worth storing off-site for a month or so whilst you work through your projects.
Hopefully we don't have the projects stop since that is my husband's new career haha.

We're working through the recent career bumps and might have to store more trailers at a facility, already store the enclosed trailer 30 minutes away. Takes some logistics to go ride the buoy course and have only ridden four times so far this year. Kinda one of the reasons I want to have the Superjet stay at the house, can take the sitdown and SJ out on the lake since they are legal and actually have some fun for once.

So far we've thought of installing a board and rails in the Matrix..may or may not remove seats, getting a little foldy trailer to store on the wall when not in use, or just get a cover and leave the SJ outside.

Got a crazy idea, why not sell the Matrix and get a small pickup truck?

^^^ How about a used pickup truck parked in the driveway with the skis on a flatbed or in the bed with a winch at the end?
Or if you are creative a 4x4 or 6x6 UTV with a bed and winch? The bed on a 6x6 is too narrow and is not long enough but you could easily make a wider longer bed with an extra set of "toad" wheels behind it (kinda like a trailer toad but not articulating).

They are really the toys of the UTV world versus a Kubota, but I can attest that the 6x6 version is pretty friggin' functional with a 4500 lbs winch front and back.

I'm not self employed quite yet, so still have a couple hours of driving each day and I ain't paying more for gas haha.
The little Colorados would probably be good, but again, ain't wanting a car payment.
