You can sell off parts for money. The motor was basicly free. A customer brought his car to us for a newer better motor and left us this one. Plus this is our second race. We got evaluated at the end of race one at $100. So that gave us $400 this time. Most or all of the parts on the car were used and or laying around the shop.
I dig the low buck style series of all genres. Back when racing wasn't defined with how much money someone could throw at a car, but more of what you could do with your hands.
I still can't imagine how the costs are policed and how you do it so cheap.
The costs are policed by judges who review your paperwork and still have the right to say "we don't believe you" and dock you a 50 lap penalty. Bribing the judges is also allowed.
AW11 is a great ride, light and nimble as the SJ I have the ZZW30, similar concept but 20 years later.. too bad they dont make these anymore..toyota makes shopping carts now...
I have a aw11 supercharged, a sw20 na and a zzw30. I am a big fan of these cars and also the supra. But like you said , now all they make are "shopping carts"
