That it sure is!

But I'd want a nice manifold, which costs $$$. Then again, a decent dual manifold costs money, too.

There is a reason that Novis are more expensive
They are the best

You could of course just wait and buy some 2nd hand spectums of someone that upgrading to new novis

I didn't care for it much (that's what I ran).
If I were to do it over, it'd be an ATP.

You should see my bilge - I don't give a :):):):) about bling :haha:

The Riva manifold wasn't big enough, IMHO, to sustain WOT runs.
It's a very long-standing debate, let's not get into it here. (We can, but let's do a separate thread)

So why is tuning carbs a concern in single vs dual?

FWIW, I don't think you can go all that wrong either way.
I've run both. But the tuning argument doesn't hold much water.

I agree with that completely. Same with the less maintenance argument. Same with the less holes to catch water. The ONLY thing(IMO) a single has going for it is being simple. Maybe it seems easier to someone who isn't very comfortable tuning carbs. Good duals ALWAYS make better power!:veryhappy:

I actually have more experience with dual carb setups and find them easier to tune, maybe I am in the minority but I have always run duals and probably always will, just like I have always run rear exhaust, the one carb setup I did have trouble tuning in was a 46 mikuni single on my X2.

A single Novi 48 is what I am running on my 5 mil Lamey with 85.5 bore and it rips VERY HARD and pulls like a tank. Less clutter in the engine compartment and the ease of tuning one carb! PM 335 and Gilgoneround and ask them about it if you have doubts about a single setup. They have ridden it. I'm also running an enhancer and a stock flywheel. :Banane26:

I bought the exact same setup(fuel) that Steve has because of how good Steve's ski runs.

You know I never really looked at the whole carb market. I know I have a good intake and reed cage setup. What should I through on top of them? I was going to go with the xscream modded 46s because it was the cheapest route and I have some one who can help me jet....

Any carb recommendations for me setup?

I am also trying to look at the prices (one of my biggest deciding factors...)

Any one have some prices to share?
Correct me if any are wrong...

1400- Novi 48s
1160- 49 Fullspecs
1100- 48 Fullspecs
960- Riva 48 Powerbombs
880- 48 Blackjacks
740- 46 Blackjacks
700- Xscream Modded 46s
430- Mikuni 46s

What is "modded" about these carbs? I've seen several people say that some circuits are modified, but no one ever has any reliable or specific info. Usually when Chuckie mentions them he says Mikuni 46's with his "jetting mods." That's a whole lot of money for rejetted carbs, unless you can confirm that they are actually physically modified and not just jetted. I'd be curious to know what the actual mod entails. It's pretty easy to see the mods on BlackJacks, Full Recs, Novi's, Riva, etc.:scratchchin:

I have a set, other than a second hole drilled in the top of the diaphram cover, I cannot tell. The bottom does look like it may have been opened up some, but not past the butterflys, but I will say that they hit good on my TLR setup. I have not spent enough time trying to get them dialed in on my LPW BB setup.

They have more done inside and if you took them a part and looked you would see.
