What do you guys think of getting a blaster as a second ski. Here is the deal. My wife wants to get ski of her own. She has been on my square but said it was a lot of work for her.

When I was out shopping for a standup last year we talked to a sales guy about an sxr and that is what she wanted to get. He said it would be soooo much easier to ride. I kinda like the idea of giving the blaster a try. What do you guys think?

The sxr would probably be much easier for her to ride.

The Blaster is an awesomely fun ski. The downside to the blaster is that lots of people have a hard time getting back on. Especially taller or bigger people. The cool thing about a blaster though is that you can put most riders inexperienced riders on it, but at the same time, it's a ski that is still fun to those with experience.

oh, and it's a freakin' blast in the surf.

I'm thinking that she will never see the inlet with a standup and that maybe I can get her out there on a blaster. Not to mention I can use the blaster when she is not.:27:

brraap....thats so 2002
cant go wrong, blasters make great second skis, its what my wife rides. for some reason chicks dont have any problems getting on a blaster, their balence is much better than ours.

Yea...get your wife a blaster.

:headbang:

1) parts are the same as your ski
2) that thing rocks
3) if you wife is athletic enough to ride a standup, she'll get the blaster figured out quickly and will be able to cruise around while you are throwing fips in the surf.

Oh and be sure to put some foot straps on that thing for her.

actually you should go to Japan and get her a new x2...and when she does not like it, sell it to me for $2 and I'll pay half for shipping out here.

Blasters are soooo fun to ride. If I wasn't such a Kawie girl and die hard stand up princess, I wouldn't mind owning one. T-bone is right they are easier for girls to get on, I guess it's the balance thing too.

Hey, I bought a Blaster for my wife, too bad I ride the thing so much. I'm currently reinforcing it and building a 760 motor for it.

The wife sure is excited about it now!! :bs2:

But really, it is a great second ski. Women definatly have an easier time getting on and staying on. My wife likes the ski quite a bit when we go to the lake or river. In the surf though, it's my ski. (Please don't tell her I said that)
The only drawback I have seen with a B1, is sometimes the girls want to ride 2 up, which is not an easy thing. I think an early Yami or Doo would be good for this. But the B1 is awsome, and you can't beat the price of these things. You can find clean ones for like $1200-$1500.

IMO - get d blaster

but my GF who was hydrophobic when i met her would rather be on my SXR then my HX. says it's easier to ride. overall she'd rather be on the rx or at home which is fine with me too

i have both. if you don't wanna make a decision first we can meet up and i'll let you guys try em both out. sxr is stock, blaster... well, isn't.

blasters kick azz, especially in the surf. but it gets boring on flat water.

If any of you peps know of a blaster that will be for sale I will be in the market in a month or two. Right now I don't have room in the garage plus it would be nice to sell a house or two first. I have never been on one and would like to give it a try. I see people getting some serious air and doing sick tricks where I ride on them. Thanks everyone for the help.
