i cant imagine any 2wd truck would slip pulling a standup jetski out. all of the stories about trucks slipping or needing 4wd is with a boat. standup jetski weighs at most 3-400lbs. no way that little bit of weight is gonna hold the car or truck back. youre more likely to get the tires in the water with a hitch hauler than a trailer. boats will weigh far more than that. that said, i had a 15ft ski boat at one time and pulled it with a 94 5.0 5spd mustang. never once had a problem pulling the boat out which weighed over three times what the jetski weighs.

I think it's a traction issue. Not a weight issue. I remember once my dad had to get a tow up the ramp at low tide even though we never had any problems at high tide. At high tide the rear tires didn't touch the algae. At low tide they did. Granted, this was with a boat as you said. Still I worry sometimes about parking on ramps I can't walk on.

Maybe a hitch hauler mounted to the front of the truck. Keeping the drive wheels out of most of the slippery stuff. Just a thought. Wheel chocks are NOT for pussies so make sure you gott'm.

Be aware, the truck will run a bit warmer than normal hauling like this. So if it's 95 degrees out & your hauling more than a few miles or up any hills, it could be a problem.
