I was there Saturday and watched the truck race. It was some pretty good racing.

im wondering how loud an xmetal box would be just running single out the back

On my SJ, only out the back it is ridiculously LOUD. So loud I took it out this week and put back in the stock box!!!

yet, on my Octane Hull w/ front and rear it is amazingly quiet??? I dont get it?

It's definitely the front that puts out most of the noise. I have ridden with guys with X-metal single rear only, front only, and one front/one rear. The front only is the loudest, followed closely by the one front/one rear. Single rear isn't that bad. The extra several feet of tubing to the rear exhaust outlet muffles the noise quite a bit. You could always throw some sort of pisser in the exhaust near the front outlet to quiet it down.

Seriously, my front/rear outlet boat is quieter. I really think alot of it depends on the motor setup porting, etc...

just out of curiosity, is this a new box? and what type of hoses are you using.

Pat, could it be that I have one old box and one new? These are the ones I got from you with my wammer Octane hull.

Can you or Chuck explain what is needed to make these run the best (stinger mod, compression, water routing). The one on my SJ is loud no matter how much water I put to it and it seems to mess up my jetting on the idle circuit... engine idles high/lean on bottom compared to stock box.

Yet on the Octane hull w/ Team Scream P/V Lamey it is quiet and seems to run perfectly.

Both skis have same chamber and same water routing & high compression.
