Custom/Hybrid 300sx with 701 Assembly (Intro)

This is more of an assembly and introduction thread than an actual build but here goes. Purchased this hull from a board member who was the second owner. Here was the original build thread:

It's been almost 10 years since I have religiously rode stand ups. Been building/riding/selling motorcycles for the last few years. After I rode my buddies 701 square nose I knew it was time to come back to this sport. First thing was to find a donor ski. Bought a friends 94 blaster with limited pipe to power my 300sx. Collected some parts and went to work. Built a bracket for a handle pole, modified the limited pipe to fit, and did some grinding so the couch mounts would work. Bilge pump ended up being too big so i have a brand new 750 rule mate if anyone wants it. Has a blowsion turn plate with oversized straight bars at the moment. Going to a longer umi plate and riser bar to move the bars back a few inches. Straight oversized bars will also be for sale soon and possibly a blowsion turn plate.

There's still a laundry list of things to do however i'm satisfied so far. "Finished" putting everything together on the 5th of July and i've ridden and wrenched every day since. Still needs trim which is being worked on the at the moment but it's a fun hull to ride. The holds were glued in and came loose so some foam and glass work is coming soon. Still need to weld in a loop on the pole for a limiting rope also.

Parts:
Hi-comp head
goose pole
Blaster limited b pipe
9/17 prop
solas pump
msd enhancer

Still looking for a 9/15 hooker, flame arrestors (going to dual carb), and girdled head. Also picked up a blown engine and will be building a 771 and porting the 61x cases. Debating on spending the money to convert the 44mm carbs I have to blackjacks or just running them as is for now.

You could run an inline silencer with a water tap. That's what I am running on my 300sx conversion.

Get a stock Yami flame arrestor. That carb inlet looks way to thirsty.

No worries. Attached some pictures. It will be for sale soon unfortunately. Going to Australia in February to get my masters and only gonna keep the 300sx. Going to be hard to let it go. Hands down the fastest bike 0-60 i've ever ridden.

Trim is going on the ski tomorrow. Can't wait.

just picked up a hull and doing research now on the build process. congrats on the purchase. if you get a chance post of a little ride footage!

FYI guys Robin (Rhass) working on a 701 conversion for the 300 sx that I hear is plug and play. If I were doing one I think I would wait and see what he comes up with. I think it could be a cool project.

That's pretty rockin! Mine has kawasaki 650 and is very flickable, pops out of the water very easily. I'm going another route and going to be selling it here pretty quickly.

Good luck with your masters in Australia. That is amazing...taking the ski with?
