I think the only component that is not covered by aftermarket at a somewhat affordable rate is the cases and if demand were there, someone could easily start producing cast cases. The yamaha 2 stroke can stick around for a long, long time.

Somewhat affordable....phhhhtt. See how you are? Material for the cases alone is $500.

At this point, in my opinion, I doubt demand will ever make it to where the cost of tooling will make sense to make castings.

The casted parts still need several machining operations.

20 year old factory stock cases that Yama mades MILLIONS of are still what? $500?

With modern CNC equipment, billet is here to stay.

My home away from home.
Exciting and scary all at the same time. I would totally dig being able to get a standup on Tahoe again. Hopefully some day someone will come out with a small, light and powerful 4 stroke. The thing that pisses me off the most is it won't go "BRAAAP!"

the electric motor

a dc motor with a good inverter will give the best torque ever

the technology is here ,it is just a matter of cost
the electric motor is far more efficient
but without the sound, and smoke, the roll will be a good steak done in a microwave oven

the electric motor is far more efficient, at least triple the weight, plus batteries, can't survive in a aqueous environment, let alone salt, but without the sound, and smoke, the roll will be a good steak done in a microwave oven

Fixed your post for you.

I am working on something, getting info from a guy who fits dc motors to bicycles, he's got a mtb that does 81mph!

I forgot!
i think its time to bring back this one. i love 2 strokes, i got almost all 2 stroke stuff in my silo garage. chainsaw, skidoo, lawnboy, generator, outboard, banshee, superjet, and i used to have a kawaski leafblower, but its gone.... i need a moment. okay, my weedeater is technically a 4stroke but it requires 2stroke fuel, so its cool.

fourstrokes dominate racing now, only a matter of time. Itll be like the 3 wheelers are now, you can still keep them running but who wants to with all the newer better stuff out there
