440 and 550 part interchangeability

I have a motor out of a later 440, that needs to be freshened up and put back together. I know you can put a 550 top end on them, but do you have to use the 550 intake and exhaust manifold, or can i use all the 40 parts, except for the barrels? Any help is appreciated.

Intake and exhaust bolt patterns the same. The 38mm carb will work but will be small

basically everything swaps....I'd advise against using a stock 440 exhaust on a 550, or even most stock 550 exhausts on a 550 haha

I've read the stock jet power 550 exhaust is actually pretty good even on a 440 since it's one of the longest pipes available for the 550... better would be a half pipe.

Yes the jetpower pipe is the only 550 pipe i would recommend. It hits as hard on the low end as a westcoast and isn't too far behind on the top end

works very well on a 440.and you can dry it out a bit for better top end.
