If you are discussing 49 full bores, then the ALVR6 are slightly different in the fact that they are smooth and 49mm all the way through. You could order those before as well in the ALVR 5s. It all depends your particular ride style, current set up. They can be custom ordered to your specific package and ride style. He does 50s as well.

Ashby, I'm sure we could come up with something for ALVR, ha ha. Its marketing. HD, XLT, LTZ, SS, RS, KDX, DVX, PRO, Hulk Lite, RR motor, CO motor, Hiro motors, Ninja, they all have their Acronyms. Ill check into it.

What does ALVR stand for?
Just for kicks I emailed Ed to ask this question, response pasted below.

The F/S 49mmv6 AVLR designates a special shape integrated in the carburetor
design. There are 4 styles of F/S 49mm at this moment. I discuss the clients intended build and custom build your carburetor setup accordingly.
Kind Regards
Edward Brazina

Spoke with him at length on some upcoming motors and carbs. He told me similar. ALVR signifies the internal shape of the carburetor profile. Always learn something I thought I knew when speaking with Ed.

So a v3 and a v6 are all current issue. One did not replace the other?

So now you gotta ask what version does what? Why one over the other.

Because. When you order carbs from Ed he is going to what to know your setup, what you are looking for, what type of riding you are gonna do. Then he will say "this is the carb setup you need".

So enlightening BK, did you just parafrase @Freakrider

I'll ask him next time I see him in person I just find it odd that everyone selling them act like if you don't have the newest version you might as well stand on the shore and fish.

All the new ones will be V6s, but there are combinations of internal changes, and booster changes that are specific to each set up. Like XScream modified FSs, same deal. All custom tweaked for specific purpose. Heck i customize his customized carbs when I get them lol.

I bought a set of FS 46s for my 05 SJ back in the day, spent two years tying to get them to run to my liking. Ed and I over the years have came to an understanding where I and he know what I am looking for. That is why we all say pick a builder and go with them. Custom parts make custom problems. Custom builders work with the same brands all the time and hopefully know most of the issues already.

If you read any of my posts on manufacturers, you will see I always give a standard answer. All carbs can work well for their intended purpose. I specifically have 10 years with FS, and 9 with DASA, 5 with TPE, and 6 with Torrent. It takes time to figure a product out and know all the ins and outs of what to do to compensate for each. Which is why when people buy parts and bolt them on, expecting a certain result, I go to the pros and work with what they provide.

So there are 4 versions of version 6's but no way to designate the differences between the 4 versions other than saying the internals are different on all 4

Got it, makes total since now
