Super Jet 5 years sitting :: what to do before first start up?

You did all that and still haven't even cranked it up????

Everything is still in great condition... so it's not like there should be any major issues... it's just been sitting for a while.

When I took off the carbs to clean I broke the manifold gasket.

So whilst ordering and searching for parts I ended up picking up footholds and building from there.

Being I was chopping, drilling, sanding, wiring, glassing, etc... I just taped off the manifold and left the carbs out till I was done with everything.

Once the cabs are back on, I'll finish the fuel lines, lube it up and take it out.

lol. :facepalm

I'm not really into documenting the whole experience ... I wanted to when I started.... but never did. Now I regret that I didn't. eh.

I'll upload some of the completed process soon.

Here are some pics of the turf, footholds, bilge outlet on the side, and the bilge/primer knobs.

the turf turned out okay. Not bad for my first time ever. Even glassing the footholds in went smoothly.

UPDATED:

1: new battery, plugs, fuel lines, oem filter, cleaned the carbs.
2: sprayed some Seafoam Mist down the plug holes and a dash of oil and hand rotated it.
3: mixed my oil slightly heavy with the gas, added some Seafoam Fuel treatment... still had a 1/8 tank of old gas.
4. Started right up, went off, primed the gas a little then continued to run
