Freestyle 550 750 freestyle conversion

anyone have thoughts on going to a full out flat deck? I feel like it would ride a lot better in terms of where you can put your feel and would just give the rider more freedom all around. Im going to put footstraps on it...so it will end up looking like the pics below. I really like the way this looks too.

I'd just widen it. I'm a small guy, so I just put footholds in mine, didn't bother to widen. But for you I think you would be good just cutting half off each side on the tray then reinforce them a little. But whatever you do, flat decking is cool too.

@kwakhead What if I were to cut the bottom out of my 750xi sport instead? Keep in mind its a sit down ski, but I would have a bigger pump and everything would fit the engine I'm running because that came out of there too. Id rather not spend the money if I already have the resources...problem is I don't know if I actually have the resources haha.
sorry so long to respond. Yes, I believe if you cut the entire bottom out as one pwice , past the motor mounts maybe an inch, and half the bulkhead as well. Have you ever fiber glasses before?

Make sure u use epoxy resin.. Use like 8oz glass. Ur gonna need brushes, mixing cups, mixing sticks, resin, fiberglass, acetone or a strong cleaner, and prep all surfaces that are going to be fiberglassed with at least 60 grit. If u really want it to grab, take a razor and put huge gouges in so it will really stick. Hope this helps. Oh, and make sure you always put the correct amount of hardener in, or your resin will not dry and you will have a big prob..

We are probably ordering 4 yards 17oz biax, half gallon us composities epoxy resin with medium speed hardener, pumps. Using whatever as mixing cups, brushes and acetone from store. Still need to do some sanding work on the hull. We are also reinforcing the hood as it is very flimsy.

Did @kwakhead your hood bend when you pushed in the sides? is that normal?
How much resin/glass did you use for your rocker and mods on your ski?

Fiberglass has been ordered and will be here around May 28th...i will finish cutting the siderails tonight and hopefully i can get some of my spare parts up for sale before i start glassing. Just came across a dilemma: there is a hole in the bulkhead, and foam on the other side of the hole. Didnt realize it until after i had power washed the ski inside and out....i think some water couldve gotten in there. How can i tell if the foam is water logged, and if so, what can i do about it? Obviously, i power washed the ski before i cut the siderails, so the only place the water couldve gotten into the foam is from the hole in the bulkead.

I've got all of the above-_ in use lol. I can machine you a conversion plate- direct copy of my JRE if u want me too. But I didn't invent that plate, I'll feel too guilty selling what JRE spent so much time to develop.

I make my own plates, I've never sold them before though. I feel they deserve to be the only ones selling them, that have great quality and take the time to give details on paper about electrical and wiring for the ebox s. But the JRE plate. Its great.

Just ordered a JRE plate and a 550 pump with a 20 pitch impeller. Im gonna run the 550 pump just for this summer and then switch it out when they come out with the 650 pump conversion kit (probably by the end of this summer)

JRE makes a pump conversion kit!!!??? What is involved? Have to be a plate, pump intake adaptor, driveshaft adaptor to use an 650 driveshaft ext. Too much I don't think they can make a bolt on conversion kit

You might check on pwctoday as rhaas has been working on a kit for several years and has some in the field beta testing. Either a 650 or 750 pump would work.

@chip H is stupid. He bought a Rhass engine conversion plate for a 550/650/750 and ordered a 550 pump with 19 degree impeller.
JRE does not make a conversion kit for the pump, however Rhass products does. It is currently in testing for the past 2 years and is expected to show up this summer.

I Talked to Rhass. His email response "price range will be around $300 there will be no fiberglass required. it will bolt in the current pump well and use a custom pump shoe. The pump shoe sets the pump back 2" making it almost the same as a 750 pump tract. In fact it will use a 750sx intake grate. That's what we have running in the prototype. We have it powered by a pjs 800 motor and have no cavitation anywhere in the rpm range."
