300/440/550 550 flat deck fixed steer project

i bought this 550 with a new motor from a friend, he couldn't get it running right. Long story short i set the timing tuned the carb it runs great. Not to mention i got a 650 to swap into it :-X

So on to the project, i have 3 nights into this thing. ill post pictures during the day and a mod list.
Im new to this forum so any support or ideas would be great thanks!

Looks good. I would like to do this to my 550, including the 650 swap, Ill watch this build for sure. I notice you have no numbers, maybe you do and they just arnt on it. I have a registrable 550 hull with bill of sale. Hull is for sure a project, but the numbers are good. If in NJ and interested let me know. good luck with build

So last night i sprayed more foam, and cut the hole for the steering. Just glassed over the holes in the sides after filling the cracks in with filler.

thanks man ! i havent seen anyone do it yet. i hear rumors of them floating around ( everyone does the 650s) . i got this ski at the right price with a new motor in it so i figure i ride my 650 all the time, mabe now ill ride this one ! just got done like 5 mins ago glassing the deck .
im looking right now for another 550 or 650 to flat deck and fixed steer , im debating on putting a 650 in this ski or building another one . i just need a hull !

so heres a small mod list :

flat deck
rear exsuast shave ( dunno what im going to do yet )
pole delete
shaved pole hole
rockered deck
flush bulkhead mod ( havent seen done yet on other skis )
stock bildge syphin delete
x2 fixed steering
i have hood latches for it from a ts650 ( still need to mounted and adjusted)

id be working on the ski right now if i wasnt waiting to resin to dry !!!! lol

Lol thanks next 550 i do Im going to shortern and do a 650 pump and motor swap! i was going.g to shorten this one no time though!

Primed all the fiberglass that i did today getting ready to sand and prime shooting for paint tonight!

thanks ! its been a blast .... waiting for the spray primer to dry (rattle can status for now) im going to gel the ski over the winter ... if i dont build another . will post pics in an hour or so when im all primed ... maybe painted :wink:
