300/440/550 550 stock carb settings

Ill be attempting to fire up a new to me 89 550 soon. If the carb is anything like the rest of the ski, its been tampered with. Can someone give me some baseline carb settings for this thing to check that im in the ballpark? any help would be appreciated.

550 - Low Speed – 1-1/16 (M), 1 (P)
High Speed – 7/8 (M), 5/8 (P)

Can you clarify the (m) amd (p)

I have a low, high and pilot screw?

...and what is the basis for this. from completly screwed in? So we screw out by 1 and 1/16 turn, 1 turn and so on...?
