550sx electtical

I have a 1993 js550sx with the reed engine. A few years back it lost spark, so I bought another ski and never got back to fixing this. I know am on a mission to get it running. I cut back the plug wires and still no spark. So I went the cheap route and bought a ebox and stator off Craigslist. It's out of a 1987 non 550sx. The wires are different colors on the stator, but will it still work? What about the ebox will they swap over? I was going to send out the coil stator and ebox to get rebuilt when I get time, but that's limited right now.is there a good way to check the start stop switch or bypass it to see if that's my problem? Or test the stator? The coil had resistance win dmm so unless internal failure, the wires are good. Any electrical help, or lead me to a good manual to buy would be appreciated! Thanks.

I'm having the same issue with my 94 550sx. Did you figure anything out?

I have a sx stator in my js, works fine. There was a color matching diagram on here somewhere. Everything should be able to work in both js and sx models, not 100% sure on the ebox though

the stator has a plug and the two solid colors need to match up i think one is brown and the other is purple or grey. those are for the charging portion and if you match the solid colors up on the plug everthing else should be the same. you might want to pull the flywheel and look at your stator wires where they exit the block. you wont be able to tell the condition without pulling the flywheel first.
