Super Jet 61x-00 engine upgrade

Location
Athens
Hello everyone!

I own a 2008 Superjet (with the upgraded hull) and it uses an 61x engine (single carb).
I have already made some hull upgrades such as:
- solas impeller
- riva ride plate
- wsm intage grade
- Blowsion jet cone
- hydro turf mat with footwells
- odi grips
- Blowsion pole spring
- Blowsion rope limiter

But now I want to make some upgrades to power up and try to backflip.

Plans for this winter is to add.

Factory B pipe
Ada head
Msd enhancer
And a trim kit (I don’t know which one)

Are those upgrades ok? Do I need something more?

Only going to happen in the surf and/or off a large v-wake. Also takes a ton of practice and landing upside down multiple times.

Instead of msd enhancer get a zeeltronics from @Jr.
For trim get an x-metal from @JetManiac
You will also need a limiting rope so you dont snap your pole off while failing to flip. :)

And this will help your steering suck less on the 08+ skis:

You just have to commit and don’t let go of your ski!!!! I’ve only been riding standups for 2yrs but I have the guidance from some of the best!!! My ski is a Wamilton’s hull “based on a SJ” full length, LPW ported 760, B pipe, 148 torrent setback, msd enhancer, xmetal trim. I have made many attempts and this is the closest I’ve come.

Barrels are doable or you could help make monkey flips great again

Barrels are definitely doable. Backflip off a boat wake is also possible with some hull modifications such as shortening the rear of the ski below the tray 4 inches or so and rockering the nose which will help the rotation as you go up the face of the wave. I have flipped my old sj in the surf and the guy I bought it from could flip it off a decent boat wake. It's a lot of work to do the fiberglass on the Ski. Stock hull is flippable in the surf but unlikely off a boat wake unless its a v wake.

I'd definitely upgrade your steering setup to a over pivot setup and shorten the pole 4-5 inches to get your weight more over the nose. This will change your ride style to a more aggressive style that will help with freeride/freestyle riding. You will.be amazed at the difference this will make. The 08 and up sj should come with the 62t nozzle setup which is easily made into a trim system. Look up "CATS" trim system on how to make it work. If you have 61x outlet and steering nozzles on your pump then you won't have trim. Which is possible as your ski came with a dual carb engine instead of the single carb engine in your ski currently. As far as footholds go, I'd recommend the rrp ninja holds. Youll.need to know how to fiberglass to install any footholds properly. Post some pics of your ski. There's tons of great info on this site that will probably answer any questions you have. There's also lots if good build threads on here that have great detail on doing glass work and hull modifications.
