I’m sure this has been answered but I’m building a new ski to me and want to build a big bore motor 760 ish what cylinder should I go with for best all around performance and low end grunt??
Why would you deck the bottom and why do the 61x guys care ? Just trying to build my knowledge up before I pull triggerI’m a big fan of bored out ported 64u cyls with about .032 decked off the bottom but a lot of 61x guys will have a seizure if you go that route
Thanks for input and well written response. Only thing I understand prior to this post is all of those cylinders have different port timings to start withI am going to say this, most here will either disagree with it or not uinderstand it, there is no such thing as bottom end , the only thing that matters is how fast you can get your engine into its usable power range, that can only be done with the right combination of porting, pipe and carburation, but it can be done on nearly any engine if you know what you are doing.
^^ spot on, great infoI am going to say this, most here will either disagree with it or not uinderstand it, there is no such thing as bottom end , the only thing that matters is how fast you can get your engine into its usable power range, that can only be done with the right combination of porting, pipe and carburation, but it can be done on nearly any engine if you know what you are doing.
Go on google (because it seems to bring up better results easier for me at least) and type your question, “decking 760 cyls xh20” or “porting 760 cyls” and take a look around at some threads. There is tons of great information on here regarding just about everything you’ll want to know. If you can’t find what your looking for I’d be happy to elaborate further for you.Why would you deck the bottom and why do the 61x guys care ? Ding Ding............ See Post #2Any of those cylinders listed will work with the right setup and all of those listed will absolutly suck with the wrong setup.
Right now you lack the basic knowledge to make a jetski work the way you want it to. The internet cant help you very much, it will often cause confusion. If you don't want to put in the time then pay someone you trust and be happy.I’m sure this has been answered but I’m building a new ski to me and want to build a big bore motor 760 ish what cylinder should I go with for best all around performance and low end grunt??
Agreed. A properly setup 760 is hands down my favoriteI like to use the 62t or the 760 cylinder. they are a way better platform to start with.
