61x B.B full spectrum tuning?

Finally got my ski together and i can tell that it is a definite monster waiting to be unleashed!!:brap: It is an LPW 61x B.B. with some full spectrum 48s right now it has the stock cdi because my new msd enhancer doesn't seem to work right out of the box? Just wondering if anyone has the same or similar setup that can help me with carb jetting and settings. Seems to be running alright on the bottom but as soon as i pull the trigger it flattens right out and sometimes dies. I'm running a mikuni fuel pump and have a restrictor with a 60 jet screwed in one end on the return line to the tank. I can't remember what jets are in the carbs right now. The low is screwed out 1 1/8 and the high is screwed out 1. Sorry if this isn't making any sense I'm a little excited right now this has been a long project in the making. The plugs are nice and tanned not to black and definetly not to lean. Oh my motor is freestyle/freeride ported like you didn't know that haha, can't wait to get this thing ripping my arms out of my sockets!! :fingersx:

What did Paul tell you to run in the carbs? If he set up the motor he ought to be able to tell you what to run.

I bought them new from Ed Brazina and Paul told me to that he would have them very close to bang on its just the long weekend and i would like to have it running decent till i talk to either of them. Going to email Paul right now.

Try turning out the low speed adjuster out up to 3/4 of a turn more (about 2 turns) for starters to tell you whats needed with rejetting them. Stop at 2 turns for max setting on aftermarket carbs and go up in low speed jet and turn low back in to about 1 1/4 and test again...

You really should call Ed Brazina at www.fastcarbs.com to get jetting specs.

I suspect he'll tell you to run something like this:

1.8 N&S for about 24psi popoff
LS Adjuster 1 turn
HS Adjuster 1/2 turn
125 Pilot
135 Main

DISCLAIMER: This is just a guess based on what he told me.

Have no idea HOW he does it, but his setups will work on any engine I have put them on. 701 pipe and head, all the way to 6mm lamey pv 840 with every goody you can purchase. Wild was as Matt stated, mild was dropping each jet 1 size. Amazing carbs as long as you don't try to get very far from the starting point above.

All that said, I quote Matt again on the disclaimer.

What is the RPM limiter on the stock CDI you are using? You are probably hitting it. You need to get another enhancer or have the CDI modded.

I am running 112.5 lows 1/2, and 132.5 highs 3/4.

Well Matt you were bang on just talked to Ed and he says thats my starting point. Matt i notice your from the PNW do you guys ride in the winter you should try to come up here to Canada to go for a ride or i'll come down there if you live in Washington.

I wouldn't be surprised if that starting point was also your ending point.

I am in Eastern Washington, but come over to the coast (WA and OR) a few times a year....maybe you can make a coastal ride?
