Blaster 61x differences between single 44 and dual 38 carbs

That wouldnt be bad, just getting a different manifold. Im kinda torn, thinking of goin with either a 46 blackjack or dual 38s. Sounds like duals would be a little better performance wise but more work tuning. Maybe the duals have a little more fuel consumption. Am I right? or any other pros/cons?

Well my stock 44 needs to be rebuilt, but also is in pretty rough shape from corrosion and what not. I was planning on getting a new carb anyway, since everything else in the ski is basically brand new. If im going to replace anyway, i figured I may as well upgrade. Leaning towards a single 46.

Porting on the other hand, is one thing I havent thought about. I dont know why since I just had my CR250 cylinder and head ported. Anyone you recommend for porting?

If I go with a 46 Black Jack, does that bolt right up without need for any other mods? and would it use the same stock plate that the throttle cable attaches to?

Bolts right up, just open up your manifold with a die grinder so it matches the carb. Can't go wrong with blackjacks, best carbs EVER! Might as well call up Art an have him port that cylinder too.

Thanks for the help and the reference. I just sent Art an email to see what he thinks about my setup and to get his recommendation for a carb setup. Also, I probably will go for the cylinder porting, might as well at this point.

I would just stick with your single 44 on the x cases and save your money to put towards poritng the cyl.

Yep, use the stock 44 and learn how to tune it. Most of the power is in the cylinder, pipe, and pump. Bigger carbs and 62T cases will wake up the pipe but often wont go much if any faster than that little single 44. This is because they go rich at peak rpms where the small carb does not. There are a lot of 48mph skis with $2000 carbs out there.

How do you do on fuel consumption with the dual 46 setup? and are you just using a 62T intake? I'm still deciding on what I am going to do for carb setup. I need to give Art a call when I get home from traveling for work. I also need to decide if I am going to go with some cylinder porting. I bought this ski at the end of last season and it was all stock. Now it has limited b-pipe, lightened flywheel, carbon tech reeds, ADA 35cc heads, solas mag and hooker prop. Im sure it will be a huge step up to get used to as it is, but I kinda want to get the porting while Im still working on everything under the hood.
