That depends on what type of riding you do and how much power you need out of your engine.

If you surf ride, stock electronics will probably be more than adequate.
If you chase boats and jump wakes, stock will once again probably be adequate but you will be left wanting in certain areas.
If you plan to do freestyle, you will be left wanting and most likely spend the season perfecting your setup wake which may actually not be such a bad thing. :)

OCD, can you elaborate on that?
Are the 62t electronics and flywheel better or are you talking about total loss?
I would also like to know, I have a motor project this winter that I still need electronics for. I don't want total loss

It will be a lake ski with a freeride heart lol I need stay with a charging system. Dont know if i should go with a MSD enhancer or something else. Or what should end up with by next summer.

Just saying that if you are upgrading to an 800, then you would also greatly benefit from an ignition system that is capable of unlocking the full potential of an aftermarket engine.

Surf riders are usually more concerned with reliability than power so they don't chase every little hp gain but flatwater guys typically want every little gain possible. Upgrading to an 800 and then running a stock ignition is leaving HP on the table. If budget is a concern then go with an Enhancer or Epic for a season or two and then move to a TL down the road.

In the same boat (on the same ski?) here. I'm looking to build a 64x-61x hybrid but definitely want to stick with a charging system. Current plan is 61x stator, FW and E-box. Any input on CDI enhancements that would work out would be much appreciated.

Sweet. Speedysprocket did my wheel so I guess I'll be shopping for an MSD!

Tl is by far the best way to go nothing will hit as hard imo especially for flat water
That is an opinion. Not a Fact.

Total Loss
Facts
Pros:

More control of timing curve
Much stronger spark.
Easier to get a motor to crank that has gotten wet.

Cons:
Reliability is not nearly as good as OEM or and Enhancer.
Battery Life can be short - depends on battery.
Some Batteries can run upwards of $200.00 - You might need 2 of these just to ride a full day.
Expensive.

I run 61x on a dasa 8 mm 865 cc with 48s PFP 155 mag and soo on, its temporary it works fin but lost a lot off brap going away from the ATP flame

How long it your run time with a ATP? I have the 61x set up for now and kinda think before spending money on a TL i should by a better pump.
Is there anything in the middle of the two? Or is it MSD or a TL set up and thats it.

The ATP never worked right on my setup tryede new coil and Pick up and hade the cdi tested no luck, i am going JTSL TL for my next power mod i run a 20 AMP batt soo lots of run time. What is your setup ?

Just a stock 61x with a speedysprocket flywheel. I wasn't sure if there was anything from a 500 lighten flywheels and MSD to a full TL witch seems to be around 1300
