62t 61x reverse engineering/billet machining

pretty neat. theres a really good youtube video from erickson machine on 701 porting. he goes pretty in depth and even as a cutaway cylinder and shows you the weak points where they crack. its not actually on the base but up a little at the bottom of the water jacket where the casting is thin. he explains in the video.

ya i already found it. we are modeling the oem port surfaces first, then we will make revisions.

Now that you have the scanned files, would you consider making a complete lightweight motor out of a composite material for display purposes or builder mock ups?
That idea was in my head when I first built my CNC setup but it is hobby class and doesn't have anywhere near the capability required.

I think we can make that happen, we still have alot of actual modeling work to do though. We are hoping to have all modeling done by next week. We are sending out for quotes on stock tomorrow, hopefully getting approval to order stock next week as well.
