Super Jet 650 coffman sizzler install (clearance problems?)

i installed a coffman sizzler pipe on my 650 superjet and it was a pretty tight fit. i cleared the chamber from the manifold with little space

(very close but not touching) but ,

where the end piece (nose cone) connects with the chamber the two hook together with a coupler

(one side has stinger one side is main chamber) the chamber doesn't touch the hull on the side but when i put the coupler on there that touches the hull so the coupler touches but not the pipe.

should i be worried about heat issues with it so close to the hull ? and should i be worried about heat issues by the gas tank? there is a lot more clearance there.

any input helps my worries lol ! :eek2:

Shouldn't be any heat woes bc wet pipes (like yours) don't generally get melty hot..
On the rubbing of things. Light contact is ok, but contact w/a lot of pressure on it would eventually rub holes in stuff.
Use your best judgement on that.
Generally people use turf as an insulator where hard parts tOuch soft ones.
Turf is cheap compared to holes in parts ;)

X2 when I had my protec pipe I had to turf it to keep it off the side of the ski

Yeah I had a bit of clearance issues with my sn. Put some turf against the wall. You also have to grind down the bed plate so it doesn't put a hole through the pipe.

Whats the bed plate? Never heard of that? I seem to have some oil/gas leaking from the bottom of my diaphragm cover bolt. On the carb....Could that be a bad diaphram ? I changed the jetts and it looked fine. Leaks pretty bad from that bottom cover bolt. .. I noticed it leaked before i messed with the carb and the ski was bone stock. Had carb rebuiltast year when i bought the ski. Never noticed the leak till now.
