Super Jet 650 Factory pipe on a 61X top end? or sell the pipe and get a new exhaust

got myself into a bit of a pickle. I bought a 650 square nose that had a factory pipe on it. I put the stock pipe back on and was planning on just port matching the mani to the cyl. and throwing the 650 pipe on my 701 SN.

Would this be worth grinding the perfectly good 650 mani to use on the 701? I figure there would be noticeable difference from the stock pipe, but im sure not optimal. I have never seen a 650 factory pipe, any chance they have good resale? i could always sell the pipe and get a B-pipe. just need some more opinions I guess before I throw it all together :)

I am more worried about the mani. Should I port match it to the 61x gasket? or just run it. I have it sharpied ready to grind just unsure if If i should sell the 650 mani and buy a 701 mani for a wash or a little loss..

Port match and polish. You'll be happy. I've toyed with the 650 stuff

Get your grinder out and port match it to the 61x gasket. No one , especially not your engine will know the difference. Also open up the top from the 43.5 to the modern 47mm and it will be just like a new 61X manifold, available from Fac Pipe not before July.
