650 Pump Adaption and cable woes.

I'm putting a 650sx pump (and pump cavity) into a 550 hull. Im using a 550 steering cable, but a x2 trim nozzle.

Due to the extra length of the trim ring my steering cable is lacking about 1" of length.

My first idea is to add on a female to male type coupler that will extend the rod an the extra inch. Anyone else have other solutions to this?

And if my coupler extension is the best possible solution, could someone help me find it on McMasterCarr? (whats the thread pitch of the barrel ends?)

Thanks in advance.

Someone in the fx1 section mentioned you can get those female to male extension nuts at home depot. search the fx1 650 pump conversions, its in there somewhere with pictures.

I may eventually but for starting the project they are what let me align the 650 pump cavity up at the right depth... I took all my measurements starting from those points. Not only that but the 3rd ride plate bung is inside the area of those extensions. So It will be much easier to cut everything flat and flush once the project is done finished and foamed up.

I should put the build thread over here... i think alot of you guys would like it even though its not a superjet..... I'm hoping I'll have the thing finished and tested by daytona....
