The wear ring on my 550 was trashed and I couldn't find any replacements so I decided to make my life complicated by glassing in a 650 pump, I didn't go the normal route of glassing in the whole 650 pump tunnel I decided to just to make it fit into the stock tunnel, which would have been a better idea if I have ever used fiberglass or carbon fiber before. I'm really just looking for ideas on what weight of glass to use and what kind as well as what kind of filler to use, and any general advice is greatly appreciated and needed.
I have to modify the tray to allow the new pump to bolt up and i'm just going to glass up to the new pump shoe piece as it sticks out probably a 1/4-1/2" off the bottom the hull right now. Also any advice on how to remove the steering cable would be a great help too.
