650 superjet: How can I get some more power?

I just picked up a SN SJ and it has quite of bit of work done to it. The engine is left alone though, and it runs great, but is a total dog compared to my last ski (sxi pro with sxr engine). I plan to drop a 701 in it this winter or sometime in the next year, but my question is:

What can I do to help this thing get a bit more power?

This is my first yamaha, so is this a wetpipe? can I "dry" it out a bit to get some higher rpms? Any ideas for cheap is much appreciated. Timing advance and such? thanks guys.

Advance the timing and get a pipe of any sorts. Anything is going to be better than that pipe that is on there. PM mouthfulloflake I think he was running a bunch of timing on a 650 motor with good results. If it doesn't have an MSD enhancer and stock head (150 PSI compression) I personally would max the timing out and limit my WOT to the 2 to 3 second range. And bore the nozzle which would give you more low end punch.

I know all about how to add aftermarket parts like pipes and such, but I was just wondering if there is anything I can do RIGHT NOW while im waiting to buy add ons. Timing advance seems like a good idea. Im gunna check the compression to see if I can maybe boost that up a bit.
