650 Superjet Runs Terrible After Water Got In Motor

A friend was riding my 650 superjet and all of a sudden it shut off and didnt turn back on. We towed it back and opened up the hood and the flame arrestor had fallen off. When I pulled the plugs there was water on them. I shot all the water out of the cylinders and put some oil down the cylinders and it started right back up. I went to test ride it afterwards and now it has no power compared to what it did have. Any ideas? All couplers on the pipe are tight and the plugs looks pretty good. Checked all fuel lines and one way valve is working. I rode it for about 10min to burn the rest of the water that could possibly in the motor.

if you tried to crank it over with the cases full of water, you may have bent and grenade a reed petal.
if you now start it up and see fuel and vapor spraying up out of the carb top, its definitely a bad reed.
when I sink a motor, I lay it over on the carb side and just let most of the water run out the carbs before I ever crank it.

A bad reed definatley seems like it could be what is causing the issue, ill give them a look next time I get a chance. I have a set of boysen reeds that ill throw in, if the reeds are the bad. I cant think of anything else it could be, because it ran flawless before this happened.

Compression was good and I didn’t see any vapor coming out of the carb. Noticed that whoever touched it put the one way tank valve on backwards, and it rode better after that was flipped. Still doesn’t feel normal so I’m going to take off the intake and look to see if the reeds are closing all the way

After checking the reeds, they didn't seem bad at all. I opened up the diaphragm side of the carb and cleaned it and emptied the gas tank and put fresh gas in. After this I rode the ski and it was back to normal. My guess is I had water in the gas.

I've sank them so bad the only thing sticking out of the water was the ride plate. water gets in the gas tank, electrical box, flywheel cover and all.
I take the feed line off the carbs and blow into the gas tank and let the water run until its mostly gas.
the boat cop towed me in one time on an SJ and it was totally under water like a giant lure.
it came up when he stopped.
sometimes it takes a while of riding to get all the water out.
I've seen it where the carbs had to be opened up and dried out before it would pull fuel.
