650/X-2 650sx exhaust

What exhaust mods and cooling mods can i do to my 650 I was told to tap the flat spot on the top of the elbow and run it strait out the side of the hull and i was told by adding 3" to the stock exhaust it would make it better also!!!!!! Let me know if anyone has tried this and if it works!!!!!!

Idk About adding you can drill and tap and add a fitting on the exhaust manifold and then run it to the exhaust cone by adding a nipple before the exhaust hose that goes to the waterbox and then plugging the nipple on the back of the pipe and plug the hose that use to be there
