650sx in the surf?

looking to take my 650sx out in the surf probably around pismo. Is this a good idea, what should i buy to get it ready??? Not looking to bust any backflips just out to have fun and get a feel for things before i invest in a superjet. Any ideas would be great!

2 things. DO NOT LET GO OF THE SKI. not once not never. deathgrip that thing. GET A HELMET.

bilge pump
tow loops

optional but would really help;

limiting rope
turn your idle down so it doesnt do circles..... but it shouldn't matter cuz your never going to let go right :bigok:

it already has a bilge. What about reinforcing the hull?

Also do you think a barrel role is possible or is that wishful thinking?

its pretty much all on you if its possible. have you tried them before?

if it were me and my ski i wouldnt try it until its re-enforced just cuz the hull is gonna take some hits when they dont come all they way around, plus you'll have more confidence that your ski wont break..... but if you dont care and are going to get a superjet soon then go for it. i would worry more about surfriding and doing big floaty nose stabs. failed rolls will do damage.

Yea them sx hulls are really weak, but just have fun till you step it up.

Well i have to take the engine out and re do the wireing anyway so i figured i'd lay some fiber glass down while i'm there.

Would any body be up for going with me in a couple months when i get everything together??

I would order a Superjet. LoL. The 650Sx is a good ski. You just need to start hitting it.

lanyard for when you get ripped off of the ski and some good shoes with ankle support, wrestling shoes work well. Dual bilge?

how do you plan on holding your foot straps down? i used windsurf mounts and used a little glass for support, they work great

i ordered the dakine hardware kit from blowsion. $430 dollars later, with some other good stuff. Should i do anything to the electrical to prepare it for the salt? Anyone know of any 650 threads on hull reinforcement??

im getting ready to reinforce my 650sx but im also flatdecking it... i just ordered my supplies from us composits... im gonna use 2 layers of 17oz biax and epoxy resin to reinforce the upper n lower deck in the engine compartment... if you just search for 650sx flat decking there is at least 2 threads where the guys reinforced their ski... its really helpful and if you pm them they will respond... WFO Speedracer and ou812 are the guys helpin me out with ?'s
