650sx side tray rails

Just picked up some new hydro turfed side tray rails for my 650sx. The covers are wrapped over the mounting holes for the tray, but I see them like this on other 650sx's. How do you install them without cutting into the cover and installing the stock hardware?

Can you just glue it like turf?

I've never seen anyone put hydroturf on the plastic side rail covers. Everyone, and I mean everyone, removes the plastic rail covers and glues the turf directly to the rail itself.

Edit: do you mean for the tray you stand in? Can't say I've ever seen that either. Same thing as the side rails, everyone removes everything down to fiberglass then glues the turf directly to the ski.

They are wrapped in the vinyl covers hydro turf sells. They didn't cut into the vinyl for the stock mounting screws with covers, so Im wondering how they had them secured when riding. Wedged in place from the dash and rear corner covers??
